Is it just me or do you have to be extremely pretentious to watermark your photos? Any fuckhead with Photoshop/paint can clone/crop out your logo, and it fucks up the entire look of the photo.

Most of the time, it's an inexperienced person's attempt to gain a voice and get exposure for their work. For some people, it takes years to realize the best photos have the best content. Some people never come to that conclusion, and chase new equipment for the rest of their lives, while blaming other people's success on luck or unfair advantages.
Very few people do it as a signature because they think their name is awesome enough that writing it on there actually improves the photo.
