Hey OP, your camera's shutter seems to be firing at random as you carry it around your daily life. Also, you seem to have the "automatically post all photos to /p/ without regard for content, focus, exposure, or processing" option checked, you might want to look into getting it fixed.

Here's a good suggestion: wait until you see something actually interesting to shoot, then shoot it.
And don't go for 0.8 second exposures when you're holding your camera in your hand, it will always come out blurry.

You shouldn't be. The background elements are too small compared to your subject, and your subject is too far left anyway. What you should have done is step back from the guy and zoom in as to make the background bigger in relation with him.

In what way does the OP convey danger?
None of these look dangerous in any way at all. There are no menacing people or situations, no signs of past violence, nothing to add tension or suspense... it's just normal places at night, and empty. I get a great sense of peace out of these than any sense of danger, but even that is quite a stretch.

Photojournalist here. Either shoot a person or a landscape.
If you're shooting a person you need to focus on your subject (not focus with the lens but use them to determine your frame).
If you're shooting a landscape you need strong composition, light and color (in that order).
Right now you're shooting neither. You need a subject or a purpose for these photos. Keep at it though everyone does this at first

still not sharp. Even with a Powershot, you should be able to get sharpeness by using a tripod. I used a Cybershot for a few years when I started, and a tripod made everything change for me.
