The original in color is not nearly as impressive. Definitely goes to shoe how effective black and white can be in the right situation

I know it's not from this decade, but some photos from 2008 by Pieter ten Hoopen left a strong impression on me.

The shot wails with irony: Semitic Palestinians flee Germanic Israelis only to get bombed back to the stone age by Syrians fighting western backed rebels.
>>2854569
Reminds me of the Koudelka snowy field dog photo
>>2854206
;)))))))))))))) thanks bb
>>2849767
Damn
>>2849788
I second this, In-fact, posted on /p/ the color version might be be coming up on "snapshit" territory
>>2852794
this, half of /p/ would be guilty of this
sometimes I think that trying to be """artists""" and photographers worthy of that title is what makes /p/ trip all over its dick when the time comes to take a picture
>>2855102
kek
>>2854569
holy fuck most of those pics are UTTER shit, and it looks like they're shit on purpose
if you look up to a shitty photographer like him you're doomed
>>2854569
Honestly is this a joke?
>>2849862
Your mother's already a bike, anon. And every guy in town gets a free ride.
>>2849859
>If
Well yeah. photography is entirely to do with time and place
You could say that about literally every photo ever
>>2849767
all i see is hordes of parasitical apes that probably wipe their bums with their hand, have a moral objection to liquor but help refine heroin for a living
>photo of the decade
disgusting
>>2858038
FUCK YOU, I WAS ABOUT TO MAKE THAT JOKE.
>If i was in this thread at that time i would have made the same shitty joke.
>does that mean im a shitposter of the decade?
>>2849767
>that one guy standing astride the rubble
Ugh. I feel like he's looking for someone lost in that mass of people. God, how awful.
>>2858763
/pol/ is that way ----->
>>2858763
fuck off Ricky
>>2863612
So it's not true?
This one
>>2863919
Jesus Christ
That scene is unbelievable and the photographer ruined it.
I would've taken this in portrait orientation and exluded the stupid blurred foreground mess
Man. THAT would be the photo of the decade
>>2863946
I would have propped the lady up and made her caress the man in a more loving way then I would have taken a better portrait picture. I might add some fire or something in the background to add a more dramatic effect.
>>2863919
snapshit
This one.
>>2863946
No he didn't, really. I actually really like this composition. He isn't wide as shit, like that Jared Polin frofuck likes to shoot. Though- he still manages to get in some of the surrounding story, while still remaining intimate with the subject.
The reason why this photographer shot it at a normal orientation is because of the way they're lying. It makes your eyes move from one side of the image to the other. Which is the way your eyes typically scan an image in this orientation.
If you did it in portrait it would have caused a weird looking composition, due to the way the two are lying in the scene.
>>2849866
NYC?
