Just got a little fuji with a 23mm 1.4. I want to take it around everywhere, but it won't fit in my messenger bag so I need a new one.
It also needs room for a laptop for shitposting with maximal efficiency while on the go.
Maybe room for all their charging cables and a few hipster moleskine notebooks would be nice too.
Does anyone know if anyone makes a messenger bag that looks like the attached picture?
Thanks

ok guys ive done some research and it looks like the GOAT bag of all time is a "TENBA SMALL MESSENGER" which fits a 15" laptop and a few lenses simultaneously
pic related is in burnt orange, if you want something that screams 'please steal my expensive bag full of expensive things'
it also comes in more subdued colors. they dont make them anymore so they go for around 50-100usd
thats the best ive found so far
I just use some black jansport messenger bag with a soft camera divider thing in it
>>2842688
>jansport messenger bag
does that fit a 15" laptop and a camera with a small lens (picture a low-end Nikon body + 50mm 1.4g)
Why can't people just take a tape measure and measure how big they need their bag to be, write those numbers down and start browsing amazon/ebay/wherever for a bag they life the look of that also matches what they need.
Camera inserts are super cheap or are even easy to make if you really, really need all that bulk.

>Tenba

maybe ill go give it a shot

>>2842698
Well I just shoved all my cameras and my t61 thinkpad in it and it seems to work
I can show all the stuff I jammed in there too if you want
My point is you could probably get a cheapo camera divider thing and use any bag and have your whole kit for like 20 bucks. Either that or go to goodwill and get some cheapo camera bag. I saw this rad as fuck camera bag that had some Le Mons shit on it that I should have totally picked up

youre a winner. thanks.
hadn't thought of thrifting my camera bag, good idea
>>2842706
Hey I found a shitty picture on google it was similar to this but darker. Should have totally picked that up
Anyhow it's going to be harder to thrift for one that will also fit a laptop since older camera bags are usually kinda boxy but I've seen plenty of nice messenger bags some already with decent enough dividers
Good luck hunting anon
At least don't get that National Geographic messenger bag from Aliexpress. I did and while it's okay as a bag, it's fuckhuge for my little Fuji and doesn't fit my 15" laptop either.
I'll either get a new tiny bag, or a small insert I can stick into one of my military surplus bags. And forget about carrying my laptop in the same bag.
>>2842696
What's wrong with Tenba? I've been looking at their Cooper bags and they look pretty sweet.
While we're on the subject of bags...
I just got a Canon 80D. I hike and spend a lot of time Downtown hanging out / doing street photography.
Any good backpack recommendations for me? I've heard for the Niko Backpack and the Langly Backpack Alpha Pro.
Any opinions on either of these bags? Or other recommendations? P.S. Aesthetics do somewhat matter to me.

>OP of this post here
Just to add: I'd like a backpack that can pack more than just camera and lenses. I only have 2 lenses camera and a joby gorillapod. Packing a jacket, wallet/passport, and other random shit would be a huge asset for me.
Do these hybrid bags even exist?
I share a similar case with you OP.
Looking for a good looking backpack that can carry my DSLR, a couple of lenses, and a 15" laptop. Most of the nice ones I see can only hold 13" :(
What's your budget OP?

MindShiftGear (Think Tank Photo's "outdoor" arm) makes exactly these kinds of backpacks. They're pricey, though, in the range of serious hiking/backpacking packs.
>>2846804
Check out Think Tank's backpacks. They meet the requirements and they don't have the fugly Lowepro/Tamrac style camera bag look, but they're not particularly fashionable looking either.
Also, if you like the tacticool aesthetic, check out Vanquest, their stuff is really nicely made and carries a lot of stuff in a small amount of space. I use their Pilum sling bag as my EDC, and when in full photo mode I can fit my whole FF rig in it along with a 15" laptop.
>>2844057
I have this bag. I love it. But don't ever think that it'll be okay at being anything but a camera bag. It's very specialized for it.
>>2842479
This one could be an option. It's simple and I can fit a D7000 with a lens attached, and there's room for another two. I also can fit a 14'' (a thin one, without a CD reader) without much trouble.

ok i went full diaperbag core but its comfortable, cheap and carries all my daily essentials
its a CoolWalker messenger bag which you can get for like 30usd on amazon
most of the bulk comes from the apecase camera insert which is too thick but does the job in a pinch
>>2847376
why is your laptop so thick
>>2847379
its like an inch thick
i think the photos misattribute how thick the whole bag is. it's like 60-70% full with lots of room left
i dont know what your definition of cheap is but ive been using this and its really solid and compact. its about 150$ or some shit, but def cheaper than a billingham or whatever decent quality brand.
also when you walk around a lot, you dont look like a fuckwit, since the bag doesnt scream "huuurrr duuurrr i r photog"
'nuff said

There is two versions of that bag, one is for netbooks, tablets and 13" laptops, but fits a 70-200/2.8, barely. i think it is the W2140.
The other slightly bigger one fits a 15" laptop, called the W2160.
The new Earth Explorers are smaller and only the bigger "Midi" bag can barely fit a 70-200/2.8.
>>2847546
Oh, I forgot, I just got one W2140 in the mail for 2 pounderinos. Ebay bid, nobody else was bidding. :P
It's hard to find a bag that's sized right for Fuji but which also fits a laptop, especially a 15" one.
I'm using a Think Tank Retro 7, and it's perfectly sized for my X-Pro2, three lenses, a flash, and miscellaneous accessories, but the back pocket is just barely too small to hold my 13" HP Spectre. I can actually get the laptop into the pocket but it's like an inch too tall to zip it up.
>>2847780
I've poked around those NatGeo bags and I'm not a fan. They're too boxy, overly padded, too many zippers and flaps between you and the gear, and all of the pockets are on the wrong side of the bag.
It's hard to describe just how great TTP's bags are until you've owned one and used it regularly, but it's one of those "you'll never go back" kinds of things. Everything about them is so much more convenient and practical than any other bag I've ever tried.
>>2847799
I gave you a size estimate what to look for, I didn't say to get one.
I only got mine because £2.
besides as a man-bag I don't want anything remotely fashionable so it isn't seen as a man-bag, just a guy using a practical shoulder bag.
>>2847820
Yeah, I feel you there. I like the Retrospective bags for the same reason, mine just looks like whatever cheap messenger bag.
>>2847282
The smaller one would quite happily take a fuji+23+flash and some bits and bobs, it was my first messenger bag and it's meh, does what it needs to and it's organised but looks wise it fucking horrific.
Cheap tho.
Just got a cheap leather bag and bought an insert and it's the nicest looking bag for the cheapest price, it's falling to bits though. but two years using it and I use it atleast 5 times a week. for cameras and daily work stuff.
Cheap, handmade in britain and looks good, I'll get a photo of it in a minute if I can be arsed.
