Does nikon plan to replace the 14-24mm at any point? It seems like its about damn time they brought out a new superior superwide.
Or should I just give in and buy the Tamron 15-30mm 2.8? It seems to have very solid reviews, and dat VC.
You'll see a release like a 14-24 once every 10-15 years. It's a god-tier lens and one of the best on the market, so why would you want a replacement?

Well it came out nine years ago so... soon then?

Who knows? Probably not?
Considering even third party companies are now coming out with stabilised wide angles Nikon really should be working on this - it could be a solid game changer/decision maker for many.

?? Why replace something if it's already perfect? God you sound just like some retarded idiot apple fanboy who can't wait to spend $700 replacing your six month old iphone with the latest bestest version whose improvements are so marginal that a marketing team had to make up an entire new set of metrics and criteria to advertise them.
That feel when you want an optically perfect 12mm f/1.4 for $800. Sigma pls...

The lens itself is already very good. Even Canons 11-24 is about the same optically, which is why they added 3mm on the short end to make it seem like a worthy alternative.
