I have a bunch of old photos with fucked up scans. Like almost no data on the red channel for some reason. I guess i couldn't be bothered rescanning them back then and threw them away in disgust, but i still have the files so i tried to fix them in PS.

that looks a lot like the original scan actually.
i guess i feel silly about how the forest photos ended up because in taking them i wanted the pictures to be all about the abundance and subtlety of colour in the forest. like, the intensity of all the slightly different shades and the way they emerge to your vision amongst all the trees and shit in the forest, where there is no horizon and none of the forms are clearly delimited but break up into a big jumbled mass. And then sticking out of that variegated mass, like a rock in the middle of a rushing river, you have your discrete "objects" that ground the picture and give a sort of contrast. of course, concept and execution are two different things...
But the kind of picture i just described really depends on the film and printing to actually work properly, and in that sense scanning (not to mention scanning as disasterously as i did) defeats the purpose even if it's necessary so that i can have a record of them.

on that note if anyone knows a film and/or development method that can accurately reproduce strong blue and green colours in underexposed areas (or rather, the shady areas in high dynamic range scenes) without getting a colour cast i'd really like to know. Velvia is good but honestly getting the perfect exposure with it for high DR scenes (or most scenes without direct sunlight for that matter) is way too hard for me.

I think you probably just need to get better scans.
It does seem that the files you've uploaded are pretty immune to colour correction, but they're not the naked scans.
If you're using some 90's sitcom scanning utility, it's probably running them through a whole bunch of autocorrections that don't know what Ektar is and are mangling it.

Also, re: film suggestions for removing the blue and green cast of shooting in a shady forest.
