What is this "style" called? How do I do that in photoshop? Is it just several pictures overlayed with different opacity, hue and blur?

On the subject, could taking a 3 shot burst and usnig a channel from each photo be used to emulate a Prokudin-Gorsky? I love the effect his technique had on movement but can't test it out at the moment since I'm not near any fast moving streams.

That's what I thought as well but if you look at the neck/jacket it's unchanged, I don't think a history brush has been used for that.
My guess is several pictures take with just the face moving while keeping the rest of the body as static as possible. Then overlay all pictures and mess with the hue/opacity/blending options.
I can't replicate it for the life of me so I'm asking for help.
