the whole vote was a funny mess! The real personification of the Brazilian people, for the first time in ages, people could see what they look like, and what they had put his own trusts and hope to rule the country. it was a mess!

Avoid the people who are dressed up and want their photos taken. Don't just mindless photograph the spectacles like big flags and fires, think about how you can visually represent them in an interesting way, or incorporate them as parts of a shot with more elements.
Focus on people and emotions. Take the pictures to transport the viewer into the crowd. Use this as an opportunity to practice your photography, see what works and what doesn't.
Don't get shot, and bring plastic wrap for the tear gas. I look forward to more pictures.

The other ones show scenes/people of minor interest while being ok or well executed on a technical level.. so generally no bad photos, but less interesting to me.
So OP, what is your personal opinion on the recent developments? I've got colleagues posting all over facebook the whole day regarding this.. claiming the Brazilian constitution is being killed and generally the recent events in your country seem to cause an uproar. I don't want to sound ignorant, but in our media here (Germany) we hear nothing about all this.. we're way too busy with our own problems (hurr bad islam refugees are going to bomb Germany and rape wiminz).

Is that it? A man with boots stomping a flag? This could mean a number of things to me. I need to tie it to some deeper layer of humanity in order actually receive any sort of message.

This is clearly what I get out of it also getting it into context with the photos I see on facebook posted by Brazilian friends. I'm probably biased by what they show as (as I wrote before) we get nothing to see from all the recent developments in Brazil from our local media.
I'm still having the photos of policemen beating up students in my head, so I connect the boots and cargos with some policemen.. while I certainly lack knowledge of what's really going on in your country.
Of course this could mean a lot of things in a larger context as mentioned above, but this is the first association with a photo like this that I get - certainly an individual interpretation.

I want this whole government out, possible new elections are coming, so we're now just expecting things to come...
People who are complaining about this actual impeachment, had forgot to study our history, since it's the second time a president is being forced to quit by a corrupted house... The first time it worked, and the majority of the house has been condemn by police, so everything worked great. I hope this time we can get the same results.

so, I was focusing on the act itself, someone burning and stomping a red flag.
In every brazilian opposition act, the actual brazilian flag is raised. With government allies, red flags are raised, is hard to see a true green yellow flag, since it became a true red act. People raise communist flags, mao tse tung flags, syndicalists flags and the PT flag (actual government), and they earn some nice cool CUT hats, and some CUT t-shirts for free, just to stay there and walk trough the city and make crowd.
people are getting more tense here since they are paying poor and black people to get to the act, and using public transportation to get them from the ghettos to more central areas where the act happens. Some weeks ago a lawyer filmed a public wealth van transporting people dressed with CUT t-shirts, hats and flags to Paulista. Some days later, this guy was killed, about 13 shots and some knife wounds, in his job location. Things are getting out of hand.
