What happened to instagram? I'm pretty sure they're getting prepped to start using it as a mass advertising machine, and forcing you to pay to advertise. But when did it happen that now only 18 of the most recent photos show up on the search feed?
Pic related, it's a search for #canon, and only shows 18 photos
I just did the same search and got this.
Maybe I'm not updated

Yeah, it only stayed like that for a few hours. I'm guessing it was just a test to get some statistics on making the switch. In the near future they're going to be rolling out a "Facebook" type timeline, basically forcing out most peoples content.

I dunno, I'm really pissed at the changes to the feed though. It's entirely fucked who I see and I don't have any clue how to fix it or if it even is fixable. Like I have a mix of large accounts and much smaller accounts that I follow, and now I literally never see the smaller accounts.

They're pushing it to be like facebook, which is obviously a bad thing. I completely dumped my facebook because it was no longer useful for getting my stuff out there, Instagram could. But now it's on it's way to be like facebook, which sucks, because there aren't any similar social media platforms that can compete yet

Yeah, and I'm smalltime myself and get literally nothing from posting any more. Earlier I was mainly bitching from the consumer side, but fuck, I used to gain at least five real followers from every post I made. Now, I get like a half dozen real likes, another half dozen bot likes, and that's it.

Yahoo is thinking about selling off or killing Flickr.
Tumbr may also follow in the footsteps as Flickr because you can't sell add when there is porn.
Google photo is shit but OK for backups.
500px is more of a stock website.
/p/ has the stigma of /b/.
Why don't we just spawn a clone of instagram, and call it a day.

Instagram has a shit tier presentation. A single chronological feed for everyone you follow that you can't organize or arrange? And you can't zoom in?
>>2815862
you spent canon incorrectly, I got 21,631,540.

>im pretty sure theyre getting prepped to use it as an advertising machine
It already has ads retard. I see "photos" in my feed from big corporate advertisers every single day.
Once facebook bought instagram it was pretty obvious they would jew it up. Really sucks.

No, I didn't spell it incorrectly. I searched multiple hashtags, including sony, and nikon. It was the same story for both.
>>2816119
I'm aware it does. But they're going to take it to the next step, where they introduce algorithms to modify what you see, like facebook does, so if someone wants to get their stuff out there they will have to pay.

Flikr is pretty shitty, as a social media platform. It's got great features for photography, but it's not a good way to promote yourself. To top it off, I got locked out of my flickr because yahoo fucked it all up. First they basically did a sell-off of unused email accounts, and my yahoo account was unused, but it was linked through flickr because it was required. Now my yahoo account is locked out, and it also locked me out from flickr, and I can't do anything with it. So fuck yahoo

You did spell it incorrectly, but that doesn't seem to be the issue at hand.
Just saying.

No, I didn't I know how to spell canon
Any misspelling that I had still would've shown more than 18 images
Instagram is going to die for photographers asaf
Since it became a nice way to make money with ads and with it new 'priority timeline'. we're going to get ourselves in some new plataform, or stay with the old ones. I would like some new photography app like Insta but without all this "facebook" shit.

>No, I didn't I know how to spell canon
>posts image where he searched for #cannon
love it
