Is there interest on this board for a 4chan Cup team? We're one of the only older boards without a team.
If you're not familiar this is a virtual soccer tournament played in Pro Evolution Soccer between boards where select players representing board memes/culture and managers choose tactics and is CPU vs CPU. It's a lot more fun than it sounds.
With the amount of new boards we have an opportunity to get a team and representation. But we need to show interest and start to work on the following.

Yeah, there needs to be more contrast in that area. The black to red, then with the blobs of black from the giraffes fucks up the visual weight, especially along the centerline, but it also removes white almost entirely from the top 1/4 or so..

I have thought a lot about starting a /p/ team in the past. Here are my ideas:
All player formations should represent autofocus grids or good compositions (i.e., all formations are symmetric along the centreline of the field)

The April 8 deadline is for the fetus cup, the bottom tier qualifier. If we get into and make it through that, we'll have another export deadline for just the aesthetics on April 29, which will allow for some more blender work.

It's looking good so far, thanks for the quick showing. But I think we should take it much easier on the logos. I have attached a photo a Japanese football team's jersey, and it follows a pattern I have seen on many other kits, including those in the cup: club logo over the player's left breast, clothing logo over the right, and a single large sponsor logo centered below them. I don't have PS on my computer right now, so I'd like to suggest you make the club logo two thirds the size and shift it down a bit, as well as remove all the other logos. Then place a small B&H logo where the Adidas or Nike one would go, and lastly pick a main sponsor for the big logo. I'd suggest Ricoh myself, but I'm biased.

I don't really think that Kodachrome would work very well as a goalhorn, unfortunately. It is pretty quiet and subdued, and the goalhorn needs to be pretty hype to match the excitement of the action. But perhaps many other people will disagree with that opinion. Distant Camera is my favourite suggestion so far for an anthem, but it is pretty quiet indeed. I'll keep looking for something there.

I think Kodachrome could work just for Kodachrome or film. Start it at "I can read the writing on the wall" or just prior to the "Kodachroooome!" not as a general horn though, I agree it's a bit soft sounding for that.
I still like Freeze Frame as the anthem or a goal horn too because it is catchy and hype IMO. We should have a poll for this too though.

I have finalized the roster on the wiki, making a couple of minor tweaks (while still respecting the poll results). I think it would be handy if you could right some colour text for a few of our star players: perhaps our main CF, SS, and GK. Just a section on the page to acquaint curious visitors with some of our ~~~board culture~~~.
I also would like to see other options explored for the font of the /p/ in our team crest. The current one looks a bit out of place and someone in a /vg/ thread observed that there is too much empty space around it, with which I am inclined to agree. Perhaps a serif font would be better? And maybe a different background colour for that circle.
SDA should be coming in clutch with some kits soon. I will then entice him to help me with the blending.
I will verify myself in the /vg/ thread with a secure trip once we have an export uploaded, so I don't jump the gun. I am very close to having the tactical export completed, I just need to edit the player heights.

Correct. It's all AI versus AI; the game is being played with both teams on Coach mode. Each team provides a "tactical export", which is a team export containing the names, abilities, and stats for every player on a team, as well as the overall gameplan to be used. The person running the stream boots up their copy of PES and loads the teams that will be competing, and sets the computers up against each other. The team manager (in this case, me) then watches the game live and can request tweaks to the team's gameplan, as well as dictate what substitutions will be made during the match.

Most songs about photography deal with the metaphor of photograph being a memory than the actual process. Songs like Kodachrome and stuff don't have great timing or rhythm to really be great anthems.

Ah, music. I have enjoyed trolling the cup with Nickelback but I am a bit concerned with the way the hitbox chat fills with "LOOK AT THIS MEME" when our anthem comes on; I fear it may be damaging to our legitimacy. I don't think it's as bad as Tapeworms but a lot of people really seem to hate it (although I've actually grown rather fond of it). That Oingo Boingo song is pretty good! It's only a bit harmonically stagnant, though.
I think Freeze Frame is a great goalhorn. It's peppy and fun to listen to, and the chat likes shouting out the name of the song. It also plays nicely throughout when we get multiple goals. Unless anyone requests otherwise in this thread right away, we'll keep it for Spring.
I don't know how many people here like or dislike Itchin On a Photograph, but I really do think it is musically our best option; it is full of hype. I know that someone voted for it as an anthem in our last poll, but I didn't because I couldn't get it to fit the forty-second slot. I have been wrestling with it in Audacity for a while and think I might be coming close to a solution.
I'll present a couple of options for revising our anthem in a poll on Wednesday. I will also revise our tactics then; I think I can keep /p/ from being relegated back into the Fetus (my biggest fear right now).

Great question! Do you know anything about Blender? I downloaded it and opened it up to find that it looks very different from SolidWorks. For the Spring cup, I am going to use the PES editor to create some differentiation amongst our players, and perhaps even get a couple of them to look something like their namesakes.
If anyone here has any skills with Blender, then any work on creating player faces would be greatly appreciated. There are a couple of people in the 4CC who tend to do most of the aesthetic work for a lot of teams (thanks again SDA), but I'd like to minimize how much we demand from them. To that end, I might try to learn Blender this summer. i don't know if I'll be any good.

I love your ideas for Go Outside and Megapickles! Funny you should mention Crush the Blacks. He is the first player I started doing aesthetics for. I kind of thought, "okay, so maybe he is a black man who has been physically crushed, flattened, but also he is very intimidating", so I made him huge and fiddled with the sliders to end up with... this. I actually kind of like him. He's 205cm tall.

I'm not sure where that came from either. I think it might be because they are seen as epitomizing the worldview of a truck-drivin', beer-chuggin', git-er-done rig pig. That and maybe the way Chad sings. The production overall is very... gratuitous.
