what are your thoughts on it?

It's nice. But like anything else, it's a tool, not a magic wand.
Google Nik Collection
waste of money, waste of bandwidth to even torrent
bunch of shit you can already do in photoshop wrapped up in a that web 2.0 glass interface
I find the Tonal Contrast filter in Color Efex to be really handy, but it & the sharpener are literally all I use from the collection.

never heard of it before
used it for about an hour now

pretty much this, i feel like this is a highly un-needed piece of software, but the preset ability seems like someone might find some use for it, but then again why not just use a LR preset.
Sharpener feels like magic, pulls out details i didnt know were there, but results get real wonky real fast.
SilverEfex seems really nice when you want to convert to BW, the simple color filter really helps do major adjustments before refining
the HDR tool tends to produce silly results
pic related
but again
>only used it for an hour so far
it might have uses
but i feel like its just a super fancy preset manager

looks like a plain old unsharp (highpass) filter
photoshop's own smart sharpen would get you better results, i'm sure
>>2798096
So its a badass preset manager
And an easy access to the tools I dont really know exist/how to use in photoshop
Gotcha
>>2798193
badass? are we looking at the same thing?
this whole post sounds uncannily like an outsider trying to sell us bad software, which would explain the username and subject both reading Nik Collection twice over in the thread
natives don't do that
I like the Silver Efex portion of it. Yeah, everything it does can be done in Photoshop, but it packages several different sets of Photoshop operations into individual tools in Silver Efex. Just helps simplify the processing.

Which culture is this?

Surprised nobody mentioned it's free now.
