i think your photo has become "colder", detached. also compo is almost nonexistent nowadays, it draws the attention too much to the boldness of the 'photographic assault', leaves you somewhat empty. subjects feel exploited. it still shows proficiency and a certain unique eye for this, but lost a lot of the charm it had in the past.

I learned to shoot on a rangefinder with a finder in the cold shoe, so it's what I'm most comfortable with. The best comparison for what I do is "quickscoping" in a videogame. I just imagine the 28mm frame and put the camera up to my face at the last second.

Depends on the shot. There is no right answer. They're all tools, which are useful for different jobs.

Generally I use aperture priority with auto ISO (I have three ranges set: one for sunset/sunrise, one for day, and one for night).
If I'm in a situation where I care more about motion blur for whatever reason, I'll roll with shutter priority instead.
I generally only drop into full manual when shooting in studio.
Learning and understanding both your meter and the metering modes is more important than learning the different shooting modes. It doesn't matter if you shoot in manual if you don't know how to interpret what your meter is telling you.

Cool, makes sense then. Framing with the screen feels a bit disconnected in a way
I'm gonna open my GR soon too, seems easy enough to do. Canned air just made the problem worse.
