Beats not using your new camera
>>2775080
So what? Your camera can handle the rain. Also, there are many things to take photos of inside. Portraits, still life, macro, etc.
>>2775130
Anything that doesn't require a clear interesting sky? Stories. Interesting things. The light on a cloudy day is EXCELLENT for portraiture near an open door or window or archway or something similar.
>>2775130
There's loads of stuff to photograph in the UK, just use your eye and your camera settings to make something interesting.

It's hard to find umbrellas that aren't used for lighting. I've searched "camera umbrella hotshoe" and no luck, any links?
>have Pentax
>go to campus
>pissing down all week

>whip out camera, spend 5 minutes finding the right angle for the shot in the rain
>take the shot while I hold up the traffic, no fucks given

Just go out and start shooting OP. Even a crappy lens like this can capture a nice scene.

But it's out of focus, anon.
>>2775865
It is in focus. The image is soft due to a layer of dust in the focusing group causing diffraction softness at all aperture ranges.
I need to machine a few special tools to take the lens apart and clean it, if it is possible, until then I'm not afraid to use it.
Oh, it is also a manual focus lens.
Intredasting. I live in Australia and would love some different weather, its great that its fine blue skies for weeks at a time, but I like the dark, wet weather, its more interesting.
>>2775080
>rained every day since i purchased it
Fuckin northenfags. Time you moved down south where the weather isn't always blowing sideways.
>>2775872
I find that the sunny clear sky with sharp contrasty shadows and strong light makes the most boring shots. Everything is strongly lit or goes into dark shadows with lots of loss in detail.
Cloudy and overcast sky gives a much more even diffuse lighting and makes the most detail visible. It can also give more emotional depth to certain scenes and landscapes can get that timeless look.
If it's sunny clear skies out there I don't even bother to go out shooting anymore.
>>2775555
I like it to rain before I go out so I can get some natty reflections.
>>2776362
yeah it's easier that way but i eventually found that the reflections look even better in the minutes after the rain has stopped rather than 30 mins or more later
>>2775872
Same here , i have not a lot of time to shoot so it really pisses me off when the day/ night i have to shoot is cloudless

A legit medical condition. I can fracture bones easily in the cold. On top of that I have nerve damage.
I still go outside and shoot when I can, and it's starting to warm up a bit again.
>>2776922
A medical condition where a few degrees of temperature change will affect the brittleness of your bones?
Give me the name of it or shut the fuck up.
>>2776935
>medical condition where a few degrees of temperature change will affect the brittleness of your bones?
That's not it at all.
>give me the name of it or shut the fuck up
Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. Symptoms and severity are different for most people diagnosed with the genetic mutation.
I generally have chronic pain in my arms and hands all year round, but in the cold weather my joints are less stable and can lock in place or dislocate easier. If too much pressure is placed on a lock joint, it usually fractures.
It took 6 months to heal one fracture in my right hand when I broke it in October last year.

If he just bought his first dslr, what makes you think he owns a tripod.
>>2775868
>The image is soft due to a layer of dust in the focusing group causing diffraction softness at all aperture ranges.
No, it's because the focus is clearly on some twigs in front of the owls.
>>2775868

It's overcast at least 75% of the time, the other 25% is rain.
