I took my 50mm and flipped it around. Been getting a lot better results after I found out how to force Canon lenses without a manual aperture ring to stop down... you set it to movie mode, stop down then remove the lens, blades stay closed.

Yes there is field curvature and stuff but the lens isn't corrected flatness-wise when reversed, so it's interesting how well photos turn out.
The only other difficulty is that the lens can't be used with a tripod (well, maybe, but I haven't tried), has to be held in place with 1 hand, and you can block the subject with your camera/body shadow. Your'e exposing your rear element to dust/inches from wetness and dirt, It doesn't meter right on Live View (obviously) and I don't know the "actual" focal length, so I'm not sure what to set the minimum shutter speed at before handheld blur starts (but it seems to be around 1/90)
But it works, and I can't really justify buying a dedicated macro lens when this works quite well.

Important is to make the sharp part obvious at the first quick sight, therefore this part should not be too much on the edge, however, having it in the center is also boring.
