These are the two shots I think were the best from my recent photo 1 project, how did I do? How can I improve? (1/2)

For context I needed to take a picture using blur and one using a lot of color, anon.
>>2759106
Thanks anon, that's really helpful. I apologize for the first one, the more I look at it the less potential I see.

first anon here,
basically i agree with >>2759106
I might be wrong but I assume that the point of the project is to make you try a maximum of things by yourself, and discover the range of possibilities in photography. so go ahead and try anything that comes to your mind. the crazier the better. and you can probably do crazier than a close up of a plant.
and don't apologize! no need here!
cheers

I'm curious to know what the shitty ones looked like...
Anyway, if you're trying to do something with blur, maybe find something moving instead of having a spaz attack in front of your mom's petunias.
The second one isn't very colorful for a photo that's supposed to emphasize color. The flowers would probably be a much better choice for that, actually.
Really what you need to do though, is leave your goddamn house to find something to take photos of.

I'm not sure I like the color in this one.

Taking pictures of the beach and is cliche m9
I find that the best way to deal with cliche topics if you must photograph them is to at least innovate in your framing and portrayal of the scene so try to do something different I personally really like putting my camera on the ground on walls or roofs of caves and find that it gives a really interesting perspective. I'm by no means a decent photographer but if you're in a class try to innovate in ways that are accessible to your artistic mind.

The two sided perspective of the building is interesting but the highway below is distracting though a crop isn't really feasible I don't know if the picture would actually better from the side of the highway closer to the rail but if you took it from your car it's really the best you could do I recommend you look into perspective in the context of renaissance artists to get a good idea of how to interestingly use it. keep shooting m9 :)

It's an abandoned mine in Southern California. I've visited a few times and photographed it all the way through twice. It's not as spooky as you would imagine because nothing is actually in there that's alive just the remnants of the miners occupation. They were mining Tourmaline down there.
