Why have camera producers stopped creating colour cameras?

Remember the end of the film era - Champagne finish Canon, pentax, Nikon, mf Fuji or grey Minolta. Yes, the quality was low, but back then most of the cams were plastic. Nowadays we have all those alloy bodies which in theory could be easily painted in any colour you like. Yes, pentax does it now, but you probably would get tired of their Lego colors too fast.

Why can't we get a higher class dslr in color? Or even mirrorless if we think of sony. I'm talking of something of at least 6d/5d level.

Colour editions are more feasible with higher volume, so probably Canon could do this without incurring any loss.
But I'm not so sure anymore, the smartphones have stolen a significant chunk of the camera volumes.

I like the concept of carrying a larger format film around in a small body. It makes taking better quality images easier and it's more convenient to take places.

I've owned one camera and one lens for over 13 years now. I've taken pictures with it almost every day since I was given it. The only gear I've bought in that time was a tripod, filters and film. How the fuckery am I a gearfag if I like the concept of a camera?

Aside from limited-edition gold-plated shit for sheikhs, I don't recall high-end cameras ever being made in garish colors.

Steel/silver finish is available on a ton of cameras, some of them pretty serious like X-T1. Olympus and Panasonic also have a few mid- to low-end brightly colored mirrorless.

its a very simple answer.
black is the least reflective colour.
often things you are shooting will be
reflective of you and the camera.
light spill and light bounce.
coloured camera=desperate hipster
black camera, logo taped over=probably a pro.

Have you not been hearing about all the issues with the 70mm screenings due to film issues, lack of well trained projectionists, faulty equipment, etc? There are many stories of theaters starting with the film, and having to finish with digital because of technical issues.

The world has moved on. The fact that a movie having been shot on film has made headlines is indicative of this fact.

I don't know if you guys are interested but i recently visited Melbourne Australia's michaels World-Famous Camera Museum which houses a collection of 8,000 cameras.

Here are a few i thought you guys might be interested in. Only 2,000 are on display, all of which feature a "rareness" rating from 1 star to 5 stars.

Thanks for posting those museum cameras!

Crazy how many of them I've seen in person, but mostly the shitty ones.

>Digital you always tweak. Film you have to trust your knowledge
That's not true though. If you can't discipline yourself then it's your own problem, not the mediums.

It is better to learn the basics on digital though.

>It's also lead to a huge decline in "What camera model is that?" when I'm out and about
since its not written on the camera people stopped asking?
>>
>>2759413
People like to make small talk about obvious things and ask about stuff that's already written in front of them. If the camera has no markings they can't ask about it and it is also intimidating and rather keep out of your way.
Pepple in general are stupid, no better than cattle.
