Hey /p/ I've already bought a Nikon DSLR but now I need to get myself one big hunky telephoto lens so I'll look like a real pro. Whats a cheap option?

Get one of those 70-200mm f/2.8 lens mugs and hold it in front of the body.
Sigma 50-500mm for creeping on your neighbors wife.
Seriously.. get a 35mm or 50mm.

dub dubs
Every time I see a massive camera like that it makes me glad I prefer rangefinders. Such a pain in the ass to carry dSLR and big lenses around.
OP, the Sigma 70-200 2.8 without IS is a good value secondhand lens

Except there is no lens that mimics a 70-200 on a rangefinder, so you wouldn't be using one anyways. You can fit small primes on a small DSLR.
55-200 would be the cheapest

Really?! Thanks for letting me know!

if you buy cheap the autofocus and lens stabilization will drive you nuts.
Sigma 150-500 DG OS LMNOP
Have one for my Canon. Good stabilization and fast enough AF to work with. Daylight only, though, because of the aperture.
