It's nothing but boring mundane shit made to look sort of pretty/trendy with processing. It's processed well, and lit interestingly, but there's still nothing in the photos but manhole covers, and shoes, and empty streets. They're desktop background images made for 15 year old boys to be EPIC. But there's nothing there.

Moody photos of nothing? Sure, it can be its own style, but calling something "its own style" doesn't somehow make it better. There's nothing to take from any of those photos. They aren't places you want to visit, you gain no information about anything in the scenes, etc. It's just visual pandering for the sake of visual pandering. The contents of the photos don't matter at all. They're completely interchangeable, and have no relation to the processing or mood.

I think there is something to be said for a photograph having a cool aesthetic. Of course he won't be winning any awards with his photography,but work like his is in a way more marketable. Photos that look cool people want on calenders and as screen savers. Also work like his almost universalises photography it shows that someone can pick up a camera and make boring shit athletically pleasing and all you need is some editing skills. I totally agree that his work is nothing technically special, but his ability to make boring photos interesting has its own appeal.
