what does /p/ think of my first blender render?
Is it a photograph of a hologram or something?

image made by cycles rendering in blender
Reflections lack uniformity, shadows lack direction and too diffuse, unaesthetical profile curve for the cup. Try harder and come back again.
Push up the image there is no reason to cut off the shadows with so much deadspace above

well i did say it was my first no need to be a dick about it
Also whats with that FOV? Or is it the shape of the cup but it looks almost isometric with a hint of perspective, either pull it apart more or bring it together. No reason to dwindle ambiguously. Clarity in concept and execusion go a long way.
Think thats about all i can come up for now

U asked for thought and i delivered, maybe i came across patronizing but its all honest feedback. Keep up hustling

I think it's not photography.
also shit

I dont know blender, I used C4D. But it looks like the ground is the issue here. If you can just light the scene using a single light, using only global illumination.
This is my second render using c4d, I think it was using 3 point lighting and global illumination
