Ok /p/ I need a new monitor.
Right now I'm using a total piece of shit Acer with like 50% colors a 960x720p resolution. It looks like shit. I hate it.
Can anyone recommend a monitor that will be great for editing photos for under $400 (ish)? I do zero gaming so refresh rate doesn't matter.

Whatever the flavour of the month 27", ips, 2560x1440, korean monitor off ebay is and a spyder.
And use dvi or dp, not hdmi.
Theres very few actual panels made, the cheap korean stuff is identical where it counts. And personally i prefer not having a glutton of image calibration shit built into the monitor when a spyder will always give great results for colour.
wow look, a nice picture taken with a Sony a7. that's literally like spotting a unicorn

Haha I would like to think I have more than one of those. Pic related?

What do you mean by spyder?

I mean it's basically a D750 without the flappy mirror. I don't see why that's the attitude.

A $200 color calibrator? No thanks.

You realise that for all intensive purposes DVI and HDMI are the same except for the latter supporting sound, right?
OP just grab a U2414H and stick it in the factory calibrated SRGB preset, it's more than fine.

Are resolutions past FullHD really worth it?

>intesive purposes
but seconding your ultrasharp reccomendation
also dvi supports sound depending on the chipset.

Buy used calibrator and a monitor. You may even find an older 19 inch display which will produce better image than modern display with same price.
