How the hell did you decide on your first camera? The more research I do the more options become available and it gets harder to choose, I've found a good deal on the ar5100 and I think I'll pull the trigger, if my main sues are sport, landscape and city shots is this a good purchase?

I got really drunk, and a few days later a Fuji X-T10 arrived at my doorstep.
Drunk me made a good decision.

Never wanted to deal with bulk and loud mirror slaps, so I knew I wanted mirrorless. Wanted a Fuji X-T1 for their split focusing, but settled for Olympus OMD EM10 for its price point. Too cheap for lenses, so I use legacy Canon FDn manual focus with a converter. Pleased with my decision.
I just bought the cheapest one from a respected brand that would have features needed to get started (I.e. manual mode). A Nikon D40 back then. I use a D3200 now because I'm just a hobbyist with little money, but seriously was NEVER disappointed.
Practice, not gear, makes perfect. (Also, it's "practice makes permanent", not "practice makes perfect", but that's another topic.)

I'm looking at a D3300 right now for $320 AUD (after cashback), includes an 18-55mm. Should I go for it?
The K3 costs a dickload more

>sport, landscape and city shots
Go buy a entry level DSLR
Then get a wide angle and zoom down the road
>>2729817
ive heard the a5100 is a great camera
withthe kit lens you could do good land and cityscape but not sure about sport
>>2729964
Look for a K-50 or a used K-5/K-5II
>>2729964
i got my k3 with 50mm for 650 USD
never held a nikon but i love the way the pentax feels, much better than fat as shit canon i tried
their ks2 is cheaper and supposed to be pretty great too, as with the k-5 iis

Sony is good. Get it.
>>2729817
Depends on the deal really. If it's in the range of $500 spend the extra $50 and get the a6000 because of the viewfinder.

What part of "buy used" you don't understand? A K-50 with WR kit lens goes for around $350 on ebay. Mind you, the K-30 is the same as the K-50 so it's more options on searching.
>>2729817
if you don't need selfie shits get the a6000
>>2729817
>sports
No. A6000 or a good fast DSLR like the Pentax K-3 or Canon 7D/7DII
>>2730122
i guess that's a deal.
you will just miss the evf and more buttons but you'll gain a touch screen, useful for focus.
i managed with quick menus and aperture priority.

>How the hell did you decide on your first camera?
My first one was one with mechanical zoom ring.
My second one was one with very wide dynamic range.
>>2729817
I bought the A5000.
Went to the USA with it and I really missed a viewfinder.
So I sold it and bought the A6000.
No regrets.
Get a viewfinder OP.

x-e1 is cheap.
