Is SONY A57 a decent camera ?
Sure it is. Especially if you like EVF.
But it's also kind of a dead end. A mount is dead man walking. OK If you can get it super cheap, and you're willing to buy cheapo Minolta era lenses, it's a fine choice.
There's a ton of way better cameras out there, maybe even in the price range. But it's not a piece of shit.
