so this is my camera. it isn't waterproof.
but I'd still like to take it out in the rain.
any recommendations other than purchasing an expensive water proof case? cheap tricks? if not, no worries.

Just take it out in the rain. You'll be fine. once you come back in, let it dry out really well before putting it away.

are you SURE that wont break my camera?
take an umbrella lol

How about a cheap water proof camera bag? They cost $5-15 or something and work fine.
Plastic bag from the store and some tape you autist

got old ass 400d , take it out in rain , got saltwater on , shit works , dont be a puss

Cover it with plastic bags.
Get an umbrella.

your camera will most likely be fine if you shoot with it in the rain
there's a chance that some water will get inside and short the fuck out of something though, which is pretty much curtains
I've used freezer bags before, with a hole for the lens in one end, held in place by wedging it in between the hood/filter and lens

Get a Pentax. Best option and you will have some spare cash for lenses.
>get pistol grip umbrella
>hold umbrella under your arm pit.

took my d3200 out in the rain many times. not a problem. these cameras are more water resistant than people would assume

T5i/1200d is a tank mate. I've done all sorts of horrible shit to mine and its still kicking.
DSLRs aren't as fragile as you think.
