Got a Nikon D7000 and a 60mm f2.8d. Post what body/lens you all started with /p/ros

Pentax P30 and Pentax-A SMC 50mm 1.7
Still using it 30 years later. Shoots like the day I bought it in 1985
>>2727325
Started with a Sony SLT a65, a Samyang 85mm f1.4 and a beercan (minolta 70-210 f4). Wanted to go full frame so i upgraded to a D750, sold all my lenses and bought a 24-70 tamron f2.8. IQ was solid but i missed my sony too much, I wanted to go back to an EVF so bad. Finally i traded my Nikon for an A7 II, kept that sweet tamron and bought an old nikon 180mm f2.8 and i've never been happier
>>2727334
Nice, went with this d7000 because I think Nikon's got better lenses for my price range. Was gonna' get an AIS 135, but with the crop sensor it was just a bit too tele for me. So- I just went with this 60 instead.

T3i and the canon 28mm 1.8
I fucking love the t3i, it's a real workhorse with ML, I learned a shit ton about photography and video on it. Obviously it has its limitations - not too hot in low light, lousy video codec - , but for a beginner camera it was perfect, with its limitations I was forced to learn a lot about what makes a good picture - if you fuck up something it becomes really apparent.
The lens was a terrible choice retrospectively though, it's soft AF at 1.8 and gets usable only about 2.2. Not even mentioning it was really expensive - would have been much better off just buying a bunch of old primes instead - but whatever.
I'm about to update to a a7s, once the t3i becomes unnecessary I will mod it into infrared probs.

d7000 is a solid choice, i would buy that too if it wasn't 50% more expensive at that point. don't get anything longer than the 60, i couldn't really do much on the 85 aside from portraits. it's just too tight
The first camera that got me into photography was a Point&Shit Waterproof Panasonic/Lumix. First DSLR/Lens was a Pentax K100D with a 18-125mm f3.5-5.6
Canon7d 24- 105mm F4
Nikon D70s and an unbearably shitty sigma 18-200mm f3.5-6.3.
First camera was a canon 300d + 18-55mm. Shortly after I got the 300d, a friend of mine lended me a yashica electro35 which became my sweetie.
pic related, one of my first pics
Can I post even though I am not a pro? If yes, the Nikon D40 was it. My first extra lens was a Sigma 50mm f/1.4, fixed lens. I also bought a used and very old Speedlight for $50. Had to sell it because I went to be stationed different places and wasn't allowed to use something bigger than a P&S (Powershot S90 then).

D80 and a Tamron 90 2.8 di. Its still active.
Pentax K-3
50mm f1.8
vivitar 35-105mm f3.5
>>2727555
Mines D80 + Nikon 18-200 3.5-5.6 VR. We fell for the general purpose lens meme.
>>2727325
Nikon D3100 with the kit lens. My first "real" lens was a 35mm f/1.8G.
>>2727325
My father gave me a N80 with a Sigma 28-90mm f3.5-5.6 and pre-AI 50mm f2 in 04.
Pentax K1000 with a 50mm f/2
That was 6 months ago and I moved to old Nikon bodies/lenses. Fuck digital and everyone who shoots digital.

>Fuck digital and everyone who shoots digital.
Shut the fuck up cunt, stop thinking your better than everyone else.
Should I sell my d7000 with a expensive lens (1500$) and get a Ricoh gr ii?

Probably not
>>2728015
Seems like a poor decision desu. The GR II is an excellent camera but you'll probably be disappointed. Maybe wait for the X Pro 2 if you're looking for a downsize?
>>2727367
Yeah, and you also have to keep in mind the crop sensor of a d7000. It basically turns that lens into a boarderline tele. Though- that's not a problem for me. Quick math and you'll see that it's honestly closer to a 95mm, so it's basically a really great reproduction, portrait, macro (nikon calls it micro), and general purpose lens at that length. The tightness ain't a problem for me because I shoot concerts and things and I need a tad bit more of focal length for the sorta' things I do. So- it was a nice choice for me. Especially because most of what I aim for is portraiture and concert stuff. Though, I do a lot of most everything now a' days.
In the early 2000's it was a canon eos 1000N that my father lent me, 35 and 50 glass.
First digital was (is) a D3000 with the kit 18-55.
I want to make the jump to full frame digital but it's still kinda expensive.
I just bought my first dslr, a nikon d200 with a 18 - 70 mm lens, I'm loving it
Nikon D50 with a Nikkor 70-300mm. Good times were had.
i was just gifted this. i know absolutely nothing about photography other than using filters on instagram.
i look forward to figuring everything out.

Nikon "Worst DSLR Nikon Ever Made" D3000
The 35mm 1.8 changed my life.
My first real cameras:
Nikon FE2 / 50mm 1.8, 28mm 2.8, 85mm 1.8
Mamiya C330F / 80mm 2.8
Right now I'm shooting with a D50 / 35mm 1.8 DX for personal stuff (light, cheap, throw-around kind of camera with great quality).
For film I use an old Agfa Isolette fold-out rangerfinder camera. It's the tits.
At work though (studio product photog) I am shooting with a Canon 6D + 80mm TS-E.
>>2730796
Damn, just got a D750 after using a D3000 for 6 years myself, thank god I have some FX and film-era lenses for it from using an F3 and FM2n as well.
i started with and am still using a Nikon d5100
the lens it came with was a 50-200mm lens
then i bought a Ricoh 50mm f2 w/ adapters (fantasic macro lens)
then a Nikkor 35-70mm
my brother game me a vivitar 70-150mm AIS lens
and i just bought a Nikkor-s 50mm f1.4 lens
Minolta Maxxum something or another, came with a 24-80 kit lens. This was like 90 something. It was stolen in 2000ish.
my first interchangable lens system is the D750 and a 50/1.8G
>>2729106
that's a wonderful starter kit
Canon 450D 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6(Guessing)
I got one of these at the age of six. Always was allowed to finish films from holiday trips.

450D with 18-55 kit lens. Still use the camera now, but with a Tamron 24-70 2.8 lens. Waiting/saving for an upgrade. Considered 70D or 6D but decided to hold back.

What kind of photos does that one make? Two stacked on one another in a single frame? Man, some of these old toy cameras look really funky.
Technically my first one was a Minolta Memory Maker point&shit. When I actually picked up photography, I started with the pic related.

It was my first camera too and I also got the 35mm 1.8 which still is one of my favourite lenses
The D3000 was horrible... I felt ashamed to have sold it because I felt like stealing money from that guy
Started with a Canon f-1 various lenses
I used to use a...nikon film beast in photog class, (only made a few rolls worth) & now i got a d750.
>>2727555
Holy shit, my first DSLR and lens combo was exactly the same- purchased on eBay in 2007.
Also, nice trips.

>tfw still on a D3000
This fucking ass quality viewfinder, no af-motor in body, refuses to fucking shoot sometimes when I tell it to even in complete manual everything, no easy access to basic shit you want to set on the fly, lack of overall basic features even in the year it was released, etc.
I guess that's why I'm mostly shooting film, maybe I'll buy a D7X00 or D6X0 this year.
>>2734163
buy a pentax k3 or k3 ii
simple as fuck controls (with a shutter and aperture priority mode in addition to shutter priority and aperture priority modes), God tier ergonomics, pretty sweet selection of lenses, weather sealed, based image quality
>>2734175
I'm kinda married to nikon already so I find it hard to change systems.
Maybe if the shutter dies this year or next year I'll consider it.
>>2729106
I feel you anon.

got the same camera lads, my first dslr also. getting the hang of manually setting things with the wheel
borrowed K1000, Then Mamiya Sekor 500DTL.
First digital camera - Nikon D3100 w/ 18-55mm, 35mm 1.8g. And I still use it at work

Fujica ST605n + Helios 58mm f2. 1/650th Max shutter speed, makes an obnoxious 'PANG' noise at all speeds.
It was my baby. Still have it somewhere.
