Stop letting Michaels/Vanbar/Digidirect scan your fucking photos.
these scans are poop
re-fucking-size fuck you fuck
>>2721570
stop using your phone as a camera.
>>2721570
1) Learn to focus
2) Stop thinking "Oh I got a person in that one!" and look for stories to tell.
That is literally it.
>>2721584
>why not just stick the sticky at posting/reply's dialog
Or, how about 4chan restricting large snapchits?
>>2721576
This one is nice. The couple is interesting, and there's a sort of a moment.
The rest are garbage, since they're just pictures of people outside. Nothing is happeneng, nothing is interesting about them, nothing is being said.
>>2721854
The axiom of street photography is simple but I find it extremely difficul to apply it. I know that feel OP.
>>2721854
Depends on who you photograph anon. In certain places certain people have things to say with their faces others can't do with their hands and legs.
>>2721571
Thats pretty fancy for just being street photography.
I think you know that girl
>>2721955
Oh shit, and...
#I will smash your face with a hammer
>>2721780
Yeah, focusing seems to be the thing I have trouble with the most. I can get subjects in focus sometimes... but it always seems to be a little soft.
Stories are super difficult to find. I think I need to study some more acclaimed street photos and develop an eye for what makes a photo interesting.
>>2721955
Never seen her in my life! just happened to get super lucky with some decent light and a pretty lady.
A lot of the suggestions here are good ones. I would add to try not to attract attention to yourself. People will act more natural that way. Invest in a decent zoom lens and most of all - have fun doing it.
>>2721571
I like this one. The girl is attractive, she's not doing anything particularly interesting, but at least she's doing something and I'm wondering what she's contemplating. And the composition is nice.
>>2721574
This one is ok if just for the guy is slightly interesting. Like he seems like the last guy to ride a Harley yet there are his goofy suspenders sticking out of his vest.
>>2721576
The best of the bunch. What are they looking at and why are they having that reaction? The guy's teeth I think really clinch it as an interesting photo, though.
The others are not interesting in the least. Like other anons have said, look for people that are interesting or doing interesting things. Don't just photograph people for the sake of photographing people. Look at street photographers you like and just straight up, shamelessly try to copy them. It's a good learning experience and you'll probably get some decent photos out of it.
>>2722016
>Invest in a decent zoom lens
Can't tell if actually retarded or just pretending to be.
>>2722082
Shut up faggot. Some people prefer to work with zooms, and there are literally no rules to photography. your opinion about what is "pure" isn't even relevant, let alone concrete.
>>2721593
underrated literal poop op looks like fucking garbo stop using your hp all in one scanner or shoot digital faggot.
>>2721570
Well here's my 2 cents:
I think what plays the biggest role in this kind of genre is the power of your mind.
You'll need to build your own philosophy in your mind first. know your surroundings, culturally, geographically, then decide what you'll take out from it. Is it the anxiety? the stress? the romantic stories? it is up to you. and then ask yourself what would you gonna say about that, what will you gonna criticise from it.
Now you will have clear idea what to shot and what not, you'll hone your instinct, it will save you time to think and searching for moments. and you'll have much more effective shots.
anddd, well this is my personal working style, I'd like to have my works compiled and divided per projects each with their own context, it will take my shots somewhere rather than 'balls and stealth competition'. And it will explain myself better
so there it goes.
I'm open for discussion :)

right on, bro.
I shoot street with a fuj XF 18-55 f2.8-4 and I just love the versatility it gives. the image quality is definitely on par with the primes too. if I had to pick a prime though it'd be something wide like a 16 or 18.
@OP: love your pictures and how you are willing to approach people for your shots, keep it up man!
>>2722067
I'm still in the early stages of learning photography. where and how I develop and scan my photos is very much an afterthought at this stage.
>>2722016
I've got a pretty alright zoom, but the bastard is so damn long that I stick out like a sore thumb whenever I try to shoot with it.
>>2722211
I've actually put some thought it to what you're talking about but really haven't come up with a message I want to convey. I'm hoping that through sheer brute force I'll stumble across a message in the photos I'm taking then re-apply that message when I go out to shoot next.
>>2722211
I don't do street but having an actual project to work on is definitely beneficial. Once you understand why you're shooting you can get a lot more consistency and flow
>>2722102
they stick out more though, kind of important in a genre where the photographer needs to be as discrete as possible
Well I think the center of street photography is always about people. And so, you will always something to say to people or the society, always (for example even if you decide to seclude yourself and be apathetic that could mean you are disappointed by the society) .Project that to your photos rather have an empty talk about it.
My point is: doing something because you NEED to is far more better than doing it because you WANT to. because when you need it, you'll always be thirsty which will force your ass to make up for it.
Also, I realllyyy recommend you watch Werner Herzog's documentaries, lots of to subject to think about, and his films always have some serious cinematography, really beautiful.
>>2722102
If you aren't shooting street with a fisheye then you are doing it wrong.
>>2722211
I definitely agree that a project based approach is the way to go, but I think just getting out there consistently for a few weeks will help lead you to a worthwhile project that you can then focus on.
