In this case it looks like they either fucked up the processing or the emulsion is pretty much dead. Something similar happened to me when I was shooting long expired Portra 160 (from 2005).. The results looked like the images were shot with a horrible ISO 3200 film or worse because the emulsion changed its characteristics over the years.

Pull up your photo in full screen and pay mind to which way your eyes want to travel around the photo. Is that a pleasurable travel? I found it rather jerky and awkward. I think this should be a major factor in a photo such as this.
I'm gonna reference The Tetons and The Snake River because it's an easy way to explain what I mean. Watch where your eyes go. They travel up that river into the glorious face of the mountains. It feels satisfying. Your eyes aren't lead off in strange directions.

That's what I thought when I first saw the photo in camera as well. It was shot at 1/250th so I wasn't expecting it to be blurry at all. The camera was set to zone focus 1.5m away so that would explain how it's out of focus but not massively.
I really need to improve on translating the image I see in my head into the one I get on my camera. I can do it fine for stills and landscapes but people are harder. As soon as I stop and focus on making a photo, people change.

The main problem for me, is that there's a lot going on in the background, but there's no order in that mess, and most of it is half-covered up.
The lines are very neat and clean, and that just makes the mess stand out all the more.
The shot you posted next (the one I'm replying to) has moody blues and a somewhat interesting drop splat, but there isn't really enough going on in the rest of the picture.
Either darken it out or make it stand out less somehow, or compose it better next time.

It seems as though you're still in the "Mastering my camera so I want to take photos of everything all the time without really thinking about it much" phase. You're taking photos that aren't interesting to look at, because the subjects and scenes aren't "stand out" in any way. Work on being more selective, and while you have the camera to your eye, ask yourself "Does anyone have any reason to want to look at this photo? Or do I just want to play with my camera and happen to have pointed it in this direction fairly aimlessly?"
Also, keep an eye on the edges of your frame.

yeah, theres not much color to speak of, anyways. wouldve been better with b&w. google rule of thirds and youll get a good starting point; if you divide your photo in three, the grid you get is a guide to where you should put your subject so it will be pleasing to the eye. also, you should resize your photoes to max around 1000px on the longest edge before you post here and max around 1mb filesize. the sites' photoservers are slow af, so people dont bother looking at full size photos.

I have ML and already tried some tricks, it's fun as hell. Intervalometer is great as well, i finally don't have to connect rpi to my camera in order to make timelapses.

I was pleasantly surprised when I used my Full Frame for astro for the first time, and tried looking through the viewfinder and could see all the stars I could see with my eye, through the viewfinder. I guess the prism does make a huge difference than a mirror, my crap-sensor couldn't show ANY stars in the OVF.
