Hey anon, why is your camera covered in black tape?

w-what do you mean?

As a street photographer, that's how Henri Cartier Bresson did it with his Leica back then. That way you are less suspicious and can get closer to your subject, like Bresson said "if your pictures aren't good you are too far away"

>"sigma lens" not taped up
fucking gearfags
>>
>>2715040

Is this the only reason to cover your camera?

I've never heard of it before.

I don't like giving free advertising
>>
I..I'm afraid of black people stealing my camera. When I actually go out and do my first street photography that is.
>>
Because my lens hood snapped so I taped it back together.
>>
>>2715044
No.

It can also be done to make your camera look less attractive to thieves. Although it also works a bit more for street.
>>
>>2715345
This is just fucking stupid because thieves know full well only faggots with really expensive cameras put tape on them to pretend they're old and crappy
>>
because i need it to be a "streetog", i read about it on eric kims street fotogarfy blog!

This.
Please post a picture of it, Dill. I need to protect my GRII somehow
