I don't shoot it but, it was a camera I wanted all through high school, then all through art school and then all through my photo retail carrier. finally I picked up a near mint body and put that little dent in the finder housing then shelved it. I got a good job with good pay, picked up a mint M3 (with the l seal) off a collector, sent it into Leica for a $1500 CLA despite the protest from my collector friends, and that is my current shooter.

As a former salesman, sure the Tamron is just as good as the canikon version. The guy who sold it to you also got $45 for selling it, instead of $10 for the canon (only if sold with a body) or $5 for the nikon.
Optically they are pretty good but they are often not as durable as canikon shit. And if they break they are often not economical to repair because of the plastic barrels

true, it does not have the strong character of other mf normal lenses (smc 105 2.4, planar 2.8), but on the other hand is one of the sharpest lenses I've used while it's not that contrasty. since I've been doing a more "clear" kind of photography, Paul strand like, it suits me very well.
MD Rokkor 2/45 pancake. Also my first lens. Got a whole array of Rokkors now, but this one's still my favorite and much sharper than most of the others.

I got a 105mm f/1.8 Nikkor Ais off CL. Yeah its sharp but goddamn is that lens wide as hell. Very bright in my Nikon F2 waistlevel viewfinder, tho. Its fun to use it that way.
35mm f/2 non Ai is my favorite lens. Prefocus and just compose for street photography. Its nice. Rangefinders cant even compare due to their parallax issue.

This was also my first Rokkor, attached to my fathers SRT 201. However I find it to be one of the lowest performers out of all my rokkors...could just be that it's old and full of dust though. As for the glow, my PG-Rokkor 50 1.4 only has it wide open, f/2 and beyond is sharp as a tack.

Looking down the OTA. Ambient light is reflecting off the mirror, blinds are reflecting off the corrector plate.
I like ~80mm equivalent lenses a lot. I find it's a very nice focal length for many purposes. My current fave is pic related, but I like my Nikon 50mm 1.8g a lot too. In some ways the Nikon 50mm is even better than the Fuji.

Looks like a small 'un.
Just picked this up. Seems pretty good. Have yet to shoot in daylight with it. This isn't the updated version with flat glass on the last element; although it has a ring that adjusts 4 filters that slide in between the pieces of glass. Shits really sweet.
