No one expected that I bet.
one of these, not bad lens, autofocus is pretty bad especially in low light, purple fringing makes me cringe, fairly easy to break, build quality is okay, but the bokeh is great and the lens is very sharp wide open,
fantastic for its price

>>2705911
Nah, it hasn't been modified so it still has the weird bayonet mount to c-mount. Best way to go would be to mount it on an A7 but i've been using it on my xe-1 so i haven't been using it full frame.
Oh, and i got it for free since it was mounted on some sort of old x-ray machine that was being thrown away from the hospital my dad used to work at, so there's that.
>>2706154
I'm not very well versed but I used to work on a camera section in a department store and some of the Sony and Panasonic mirrorless could do crazy things. There was a Panny that seemed like it could focus in total darkness.
>>2706154
If I had the money I'd get an A7s. Low natural light is my thing. I'm getting better at using flash to look natural but my eyes see a lot of great shots that very few cameras could capture.
>>2706047
didn't you pick that up for like 5 dollars?
>>2706181
Cool. Make sure to take care of it. These lenses have a tendency to fog, which can damage the lens. If it gets foggy, send it in for CLA

Radiation poisoning is a sickness after being exposed to large amount of radiation. The radiation from this one is about 20 μSv/h at 10cm. In other words, you should not sleep with it under your pillow, but since radiation drops quadratically with distance, at 10m it becomes less than .2 μSv/year, which is like passing through airport security in the US, if the scanner doesn't stop and irradiate you much more.

Another is a Nikon 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED VR2. Its widest aperture is f/4 at 50mm focal length.

Smaller F numbers mean larger aperture.
Larger aperture means more light.
More light means faster exposure.
Hence Fast Glass.
If your aperture is greater than f2.8 then it's generally not a desirable lens unless it's something like a tilt shift. There are some f4 zoom lenses which are still desirable because they maintain the f-stop you set as you zoom in and out.
>>2706234

J3 was only in M39 mount, not M42, there was a 1,4 but it never went into a mass production. Zenitar is a Voigtländer Ultron [simillar to Planar] design, not an original soviet though, but it's better than Biotar which was used in Helios
>>2708017
A M39-M42 converter is literally a metal ring, nig. It IS the fastest soviet mass-produced lens.
>>2708022
It can't focus to infinity using an m39>m42>EOS adapter, it works as a macro lens

No. It's a denominator. x/2 is more than x/222. Likewise f divided by 2 is greater than f divided by 222.

If you're irrationally afraid of radiation you should steer clear of bananas, being close to other people/animals/plants (C14 isotope ahoy), being in cellars/basements/underground in general (radon gas), anything made from granite or the fucking planet Earth.
