Alright, It's night time here. See you in the morning.
>>
This is my first time on /p/ in a few years so my memes are probably a bit out of date, but here goes:
>>2705516
it looks like the axes are supposed to be the most interesting part of this shot, but the net at the top steals all the attention. poor composition, boring

snapshits
>>2705519
either get closer to get a photo of a person, or take a few steps back to get a picture of the event as a whole (protip: getting closer is almost always the right option)
>>2705520
dull and messy - the subject in the centre is near impossible to see since it is dark on a dark background
>>2705521
get closer get closer get closer. it kind of looks like this one was an accident
>>2705523
this one is just missing a human element; a face smiling from behind the fish for example

You need to focus on 2 areas: get closer to people (I know its hard but just do it), and take pictures of what youre interested in. Your 'snapshits' are actually the most powerful because they're intimate shots of your mates rather than piles of disorganised junk

Thanks mane. I love shooting people so I guess I'll grow some titties and try harder.

Theyre not close enough, theyre not far enough.
P/P has 3 different styles
Pick 1 and stick to it
Content and consistency is key when we're talking about a set, which this is supposed to be, right.

The locations are interesting, keep going, but focus on something rather than everything.
One thing that I like is the lack of sterility. Messy is good. As long as not too messy.

Pic in op - perpendicular angle works for this kind of stuff.

It's not a set though, I just posted whatever I found best from my latest few rolls. I should've mentioned that in the beginning. I tried to provide a varied selection.

What do you mean under 3 styles though? I'm not sure I can distinguish.

Thanks for the tip for op. I will try some straighter angles.

These are, aswell, pretty random. I guess I gotta learn to make sets aswell? How vague can a set be anyway? I live in a small place, is there a trick to continuing a theme without shooting the same stuff all the time?

Quick lesson on framing - see pic
In all of these shots, the viewer's eyes are drawn away from the image by leading lines and triangles (marked in red).
In a couple of these shots this can be easily fixed by just pointing your camera in a slightly different direction. You wouldn't be losing anything valuable to the photo; only blank space (marked in green).
It's really important to get the hang of framing properly because you can rarely fix it in post processing.
>>
>>2705866
First time for a long time I actually see someone with good critique and good tips aswell.
>>
>>2705866
Really nice info. You have some video/article talking abount framing like this?

thx!
>>
>>2705866
I never understand how to decide what counts as valuable and what doesn't. Is there anything else besides determining what's blank space? When does a photo become crowded?

Do you have any advice on sources where to learn about this?
