Shot a second test roll with my Hasselblad. Portra 400.
I'll post the whole roll (minus 3 family portraits).
Please give me constructive criticism.

Boring and crooked.
really boring senpai
>>2700571
I like this.
>>2700578
Thanks. Means a bit, coming from you.
Keep in mind that this was a test roll, though. All shot in one day - I'm not necessarily waiting for perfect light and/or subjects as my main goal at the moment is making sure the camera is functioning accurately, before it's warranty/return period ends.
I wish saying something is "boring" was a bannable offense.

This one is good. Fuck the police.

>all this canon banding
digiplebs, everyone.
>>2700551
Personally, I wouldn't have used Portra 400 for daylight landscape.
:/
ektar 100 nig, portra is very bland for colors. You have flat colors in these pictures
>>2700561
approvable
>>2700731
I shoot Ektar, too - but I like to mix things up.

I wish complaining about critique without contribution was bannable.

he did not crop the picture you mongloid

How does the pedantic lifestyle suit you? Clearly it lets you feel vastly superior, but I should let you know, other people aren't really fooled. It's obvious what he meant, and feigning conversational ignorance isn't as good a tactic to prove intelligence as you think it is.

>I know Dude A is posting photos, and Dude B is giving thoughts and suggestions REGARDING those photos, but I really need to step in here to correct some word choice. This will make everyone happy, and they'll also see how smart I am!
>Cares nothing for what you say, yet rages about the way you say it.
THIS is the critique you get on /p/.

Today's lesson, class, is How To Spot A Sony Owner
>It's not grain, it's NOISE you moron
>I can't tell from any of your photos, but I see in your selfie that you're holding your camera wrong, so clearly you suck as a photographer
>Bit Depth
>It's "aspect ratio", not "crop" you mongoloid"

>>It's "aspect ratio", not "crop" you mongoloid"
still not a crop, retard.
All those fuckin' medium format croppers, let me tell ya...
>35mmBandit
>shoots 120 and digital
you had one job...
>>2700809
Things have names for a reason, mixing them up causes confusion.
The aspect ratio is controlled by your gear, a crop is controlled by the photographer. In a discussion about what suits a picture, these things shouldn't be the same thing.
Sure, there are words that get used wrong all the time as well, tele being the most common, but here everybody knows that you just mean a lens longer than your normal focal length, not an actual tele lens with a special build.
Crop and aspect ratio are entirely different things however. Just admit to yourself that you don't have a clue about medium format, which is nothing to be ashamed of, that you made a gear related mistake on /p/ and that you will get laughed at by internet strangers because of it.

wut
portra 400 is god-tier for certain landscape situations......gotta know when to show dem Portra golds, plus 400 is super-forgiving on exposure almost as much as Tri-X.
it's not a be all end all I usually use Fuji 160ns for greens, Provia 100f for blues but in a pinch Portra 400 can pull off landscape.
It's strength is skin tones, remember, so if your scene is dominated by skin tones, then you're set, and this includes winter foliage.

What? I don't think portra 400 is "god-tier" for any landscape situations... the fact of the matter is portra yields lower contrast and saturation, which may or may not be what you're looking for, but generally, landscape photos aren't supposed to be flat. Unless you're doing a set, or photojournalism, no one's going to like your flat ass pictures

>square crop

What an insult!
I don't shoot any digital. I don't even own a digital camera, other than my phone.
