It's been six months since I took up photography, so I thought it would be a good idea to ask for feedback.
I'm going to post what I consider my best shots. I don't really have that many specific questions, so all comments are welcome.
One thing I've been wondering about lately is whether I should be anxious about using what is considered a mediocre lens at best (Sony 20mm f/2.8). Is there anything wrong with my photos which could be attributed purely to gear issues?
Thanks!

Ugh, looking at it now I see I probably should give it another try in post-processing. The whole thing turned out weirdly flat and there's something wrong about these greens.

The last four are some of my earliest semi-good pictures. I began with shooting by hand in the night. Not surprisingly, these are very noisy, but I still like them as compositions.

I love urbexp but it's a very subjective aesthetic, since you're focusing on decay your shots don't do it for me, though technically, p.gud. I don't see the point/subject in some of these shots but would rather attribute that to own ineptitude than you. Equally curious what others'll think.
Some of my earliest snapshits.
Feedback appreciated.

I agree with the other anons, this shot deserves a nice print.
Most are just generic urbex photos, but yeah I like the second photo you posted. If youve only been doing it 6 months, then you can improve a lot, but as of now you are a newfag but better than most newfags.
Great shots mate, where are these located?

>The U.S. Is stupid and harsh about trespassing, even if you're not vandalizing or causing issues.
Just wait until you find out what happens when you break something (window, some boards nailed across an entrance) in order to get inside. It goes from misdemeanor trespassing to felony breaking and entering.
>>2702461
If i trespass I never B&E. I record the building before going in showin proof that I have not committed a felony.
Anyways, I got caught being in an Abandoned insane asylum because while urbexing some highschool degenerates were running around yelling and screaming. Then when they got caught, they told the park rangers about my group. We all got 500$ in fines and 20hr community service for stepping foot in a building. I absolutely hate the police in the US. Power exerting pigs.
The sheriff and two park rangers that apprehended us, we're talking about how much our gear cost, and how they were going to confiscate it and throw us in prison.
Aside from the highschool kids? There was a mother with her two kids, the cop let her GO FREE.
Meh whatever. Nobody had respirators like my group, enjoy your lung cancer!
>>2702469
You do not have special privilege to private property, dear socialist retard.
>>2702477
When did I say the properties were private?
As a matter of fact. None were marked.

>>2702482
I'm only one of those and I don't actually have a problem with people urbexing at all.
I do have a problem with some idiot saying that he trespasses but not in a way that breaks any rules. English major.
>>2702478
They probably were marked. Search for a "(your state here) land status map". Anything in white is private property. A physical sign is not required.
>>2702483
Fair, apologies for generalising, though every thread seems to descend into this ethics / legalities thing though - I think as the fellow above says, its a little bit different for you Americans legally. Its seen as a civil, not criminal matter here (UK) That's if you're daft enough to be caught and they accuse / prove you broke something to gain entry or stole something, which you'd be stupid to do anyway.
Any time I've had encounters with Security staff or Police, they've been relieved we're not metal thieves or gypsies and apart from one time we had names and addresses taken, let us go on our way.
>>2702460
Check out UER. It's multi-national, but the large majority of its users are in the US.
>>2702480
In the UK trespassing only becomes a crime once you have been asked to leave. Not asked to leave, not a crime.
Breaking and entering is a crime, if it was deemed "inconvenient" for you to enter the land/property/etc. I.e, if there's an open window that will easily accommodate a human passing through, again, you have committed no crime.
Before you start being a law cunt, at least know the laws, cunt.
>>2702910
Like I said it's about language, not law.
When you yourself call it "trespassing" you admit you know you're not supposed to be there.
You're they kind of asshole who doesn't flush the toilet after taking a huge shit unless you're ask to specifically, aren't you?
>>2702939
Are you still the same autist semantics poster from before?
In terms of urbexing excuses it pays off to pull the dumb/aloof teenager/student card if you look it/are one. People seem to be way more lenient with young people (obv at least here, in eastern europe) if you don't creep about and act suspicious. The phrase "photo club assingment" got me out of more situations than honesty or elabourate lies ever would. It's easier to pull off with unassuming old cameras, too. Harmless weirdo is an infinitely better assumption than dodgy suspicious git, any day.
