Your camera takes good pictures. It's your job to put something in those pictures.

At least you got them in focus so that is a good start. Before you embark on your next trip learn as much as you can about the place your are going to and look at lots of pictures of the kind of things you expect to see.
Look up the general principals of composition, think about the story you are trying to convey and and remember the old Who, What, Where, When, Why and How. Not everything applies ALL the time but some of it applies MOST of the time

I don't actually own a longer lens, my cousin who was with me happened to be using a 200mm, so I very rarely got the chance to borrow it, so I tried to make more of a wallpaper-esque album. Rather than focusing on the animals specifically, I tried to incorporate them into their surroundings, if that makes sense. I made due with what I had.

And I disagree with these tele-lense assholes; everyone knows what a fucking lion looks like, there's no need to fill the frame with its manky flyblown face. Unless you happen to catch one at the moment it's killing something you'll get better close ups of healthier animals in a zoo.
Your wide angle compositions are reasonably balanced, and they're all super sharp looking, so I'd say you did pretty well with those.

Some photos are underexposed for sure, but I'm quite sure that a lot of that was due to what I chose to do to them in lightroom.
