Someone, get her some contraception.

>>2696911
The landscape photos are awesome, good job OP
>>
dumping a few more before I go to sleep
any comments on my composition, guys?
>>
>>
could've been framed better, but I still like this one a lot
>>
>>
probably my favourite amongst all the photos I took on this trip.
going to sleep now, thanks guys.
maybe I'll post some of my other works tomorrow.
>>
>>2696913
What filter was this?
>>
>>2696911
OP, these are nice, got any tips for other wannabe NatGeo photogs?
>>
All the portraits are great. Very good job on those. The first two landscapes are also great. >>2696919 is too similar to >>2696913 and not as well executed, either technically or compositionally. Everything else just isn't doing it for me. I can't say anything about the technicals or compositions, because that's mostly fine, but there just doesn't seem to be anything significant or really worth interest in them. Maybe there was in reality, but it doesn't translate in the photos.
>>
Where was this? China?
>>
>>2696993
You do realise that Rupert Murdoch now owns NatGeo and has recently sacked all the staff.

All those in depth, award winning articles will be replaced with three oaragraphs stories about subjects such as the silk worms that make Anne Coulter's y-fronts

Looks like it's the far north of Vietnam, up around Sapa at a guess

really nice
>>
These are really fucking cool. I can see some of them making the cut for the /p/ 2015 photobook
>>
>>2696911
some nice images here, and on your instagram but they need captions.
Your focussing is a wee bit soft on some of them. >>2696928 is my favourite of this batch.

Kids always love having their picture taken but don't be afraid to shoot adults as well. They are often as curious about you as you are about them.

Try to shoot the village environment as well, complete with dogs and chickens etc
>>
>>2696926
A bit awkward

>>2696920
I think the lighting is neat

>>2696931
Juicy

>>2696982
Might be just my mountain fetish but I would've sacrifice ambition for mountain porn by aiming more up. Wouldve been a bit more creamily lit too.

>>2696911
On this however more ambitious composition > landscape pron. The tops form a pretty special sguiqqle but you could do more with it

>>2696913
Nailed it with the upper cloud and lower corner framing the delicious texture
>>
>>2696911
These remind me of when I was a fat retarded 18 year old that went to Laos for three weeks trekking and living with locals and didn't take a single photo.

What I'd give to go back :(
>>
>>2696911
>>2696931
shit's desktop background tier
would you mind posting pics with at least 1024 shorter dimension?
>>
>>2696911

Are these all from 中国? I'm assuming Yunnan, well there's an obvious clue for one of them...
>>
I don't really like any of these.
The light looks beautiful though.
>>2696986 is probably my fave too, but the framing is a little tight and crooked for me.
The other portraits look a little forced.
Maybe OP is ok, if you can get a little more contrast into the clouds.
Your sharpening is way too crunchy as well.
>>
OP you got higher res versions?
>>
thanks for the feedback, guys.

these photos were taken in Ha Giang, the northern most parts of Vietnam, really close to China. It was a short trip with my friends and we were travelling by bus so there were so many things I didn't get to shoot.

>>2697670:

>>2696982 I used a 16:9 crop in this image because there was no more mountains above, just some white sky. The photo was taken randomly while I was waiting at the borders, and it turned out much better than I thought it would.

>>2696911 this was kind of a lucky shot, literally seconds after I take the picture, more mist came, covering the mountains entirely.

higher res versions of the photos in this thread and more of my photos are available on my smugmug site: hanoiwander.smugmug.com

I'm a third year student studying economics and after almost a month of owning a camera I'm seriously considering making the switch to photography and more feedback of my other photos would really be appriciated!
>>
>>2698522
I meant to say "I'm a third year student studying economics and after almost a year of owning a decent camera, I'm seriously considering making the switch to photography, so any feedbacks on my photos would be really appreciated," excuse me and my lack of sleep!
>>
>>2698616
Travelling with just self and camera is very rewarding but it is very un-lucrative. Finnish your degree, work for a few years using holiday time to get out in the world and shoot then consider it again when you have some cash saved up.

Oh and stay single and independent or you'll never do it
