I have a 16-45mm lens which is nice and sharp but in a few occasions I found it being not long enough. Should I replace it with a 17-70 which is optically a bit worse for somewhat twice the money I can sell the 16-45mm?
Or just keep it and switch to the 70-200 when I need a longer lens? Maybe get a pancake instead for my GAS?
>>
Is there still any real reason to spring for the Nikon 35 1.4G when the Sigma 35 Art seems to do literally everything better at a third of the price?

Objectively it's the weather sealing and the AF being designed by Nikon.

Subjectively lots of people go on about the "character" of the Nikon 35, the colours, the nano-coating, the bokeh.

Don't quite know how much is marketing BS but this is my first real expensive lens purchase so thought I'd ask.

I bought a Mamiya 645 Super recently and did some dslr scans of the first roll of negatives. It seems hitting focus is more difficult than I though, especially with the aperture wide open, but here are the ones that turned out quite okay

Whatever you shot this picture of an A6300 with obviously isn't that great.

The A6300 and 90mm FE itself? I have no idea what better camera you might have had in the past. The image quality of that combination is great.
>>
>>2811674
Or maybe it's just that you don't know what you're doing. And by maybe, I mean "absolutely" because no, the quality of cameras is not going down.

I've only shot digital ever. Upgraded from a nikon d5000 (had for two years) to a canon 6D and I love it, but lately I've been feeling inspired to shoot analog.

Does anyone know where I can educate myself about what gear I should invest in to begin shooting film?

Use garbage lenses. Their low contrast compresses the tonal scale, allowing you to fit more on the histogram.

How are the Pana Lumix prime lenses on Olympus MFT cameras? Which would be more versatile as first lens, the 20mm or 25mm?

One is a 40mm equivalent, the other is 50mm equivalent. Get the one you are comfortable with and/or like the image qualities better. Check Flickr for the lenses.

iirc, some of the panasonic lenses has a really slow autofocus. at least their pancake has in low light.
so watch out for that..

their leica 25mm collab is great iq wise, but i dont know about the autofocus on that one. but all this is basic research you would've found out by basic googling so gtfo.
