Damn illegals
But anyway just learn to shoot manual, or at least aperture priority it's not hard, if you want to learn basics look up fro knows photo (he can be annoying as fuck but you can maybe learn a thing or two from him) honestly if you want inspiration just go on the magnum photos website and look at their photographers portfolios and if you find one you like then check out more of their stuff. But honestly the most important thing to do is just shoot as much as possible, experience is the best...

>Sony rx100 m2
wtf are you trying to get here
you phone shoots better than this crap
>>2832607
No it doesn't
- Imagine a flat wall.
- Great daylight.
- ISO is at the lowest settings.
- But you still want the picture to be darker.
Would you increase the shutter speed, or narrow the aperture??
I tried both in different situations, sometimes I lose sharpness when narrowing the aperture to maybe F/22.
And sometimes I lose the sharpness with high speed shutter.
What do you think?
I think it's best to get the most high-quality file and if you really want it to be urgently darker, you can do it in post-editing easily.
>>2832472
I understand, but does it make a difference in terms of quality/sharpness if I put set the aperture so narrow vs the shutter so fast? or both are the same?
>>2832475
If you're using the shutter speed to darken an image, you're most likely underexposing it which is why you lose sharpness. Same thing for aperture basically - if you're forcing the image to come out darker than it is in real life with either fast shutter or small aperture, you're underexposing it.
Hello /peep/s, finally got a dedicated macro lens instead of fucking around with reversed lenses.
I know these are probably fairly mundane and boring, but I thought I'd share anyways.
It's be cool if other people had stuff they felt like posting.

If you have questions about a new camera, what lenses to buy and anything related to gear or wondering about getting into photography, post it in this thread.
Do not attempt to make a new thread for your new Rabal, broken glass and being new.
No pointless (brand) arguments and dickwaving allowed! You have been warned!
I repeat, ANYTHING GEAR RELATED goes in here!
And don't forget, be polite!

Can someone give me an objective breakdown of Sony cam and lenses? Where does all the hate come from?
/p/, help me out. I'm looking for a decent camera (16MP or better) to bring on kayak so I don't drown the Nikons (D80 & D7200)
Mostly landscape shots but lots of wildlife so decent zoom would be good. In a perfect world it would be TTL viewing with diopter adjustment since I"m old as fuck and my eyes have gone to shit.
Waterproof
Prefer to stay under 400, ideally 200ish but can go higher if needed.
thx in advance for any help.

Now that the dust has settled and Fujifags have left this board, can we discuss the one manufacturer that has been consistently putting out the best cameras across all price ranges and types. Memes aside, Sony does make the best sensors, the A6000 is undoubtedly a milestone in mirrorless design and the A7 is a revolutionary FF device. This might sound like exaggerations for the sake of shitposting, but you know that these are indeed the facts and nothing but the facts. IMHO, there's literally no reason to buy anything else with an exception of Canon for their superb lenses.
>>2830016
>Sony does make the best sensors
But that's not Sigma-Foveon
>>2830016
They might have the best sensors but their lenses and bodies suck gookballs. Sony focuses too much on the bodies and stupid fucking features that photogs dont care about.
>>2830018

Friendly reminder that film photography is a meme and anyone who still shoots film has been memed hard.
>film photography is cheap
Not when you factor in the $10/film roll and the developing costs.
>film photographers are not gear fags
Care to mention why film photographers have dozens of film slrs, rangefinders, film point and shoots and dream of owning a Leica/Contax.
>film photography teaches you to become a better photographer than using digital
With digital...

Yeah, it's totally a meme. It's fun, though. I shoot digital for everything that actually matters, but it's nice to have a change of pace once in a while.
I will argue with one thing, though. Women, at least basic hipster girl types, really are into the whole film thing. Go take a community college photo class if you want proof.
Nice try kid.
Film still is king when it comes to IQ, iso, Dr and user friendly
