this?

Raised black point and poorly applied high contrast on a dark scene lit by soft light. Probably either an overcast sky, or a clear sky with the sun blocked by the building they're leaning against.

Ironically, the Lok only episodes were generally OK good - many practical shooting tips, no gearfagging.

What should you look for when purchasing a 2nd hand lens?
Focus accuracy and action smoothness, dont be too concerned about small specks of dust as those are unavoidable but look out for dirty/misty structures as that's fungus and it wont go away easily

You should check the credibility of the seller, see feedbacks and if you see something you don't like then leave.

Been into photography for a little over a year. Anyways thought I'd start an inspo thread. So post / discuss some works from your favorite photographers.

Moriyama and all the photographers that came out of the Provoke scene really changed the way I looked at street photography compared to the orthodox photos from the early magnum photographers (Cartier-Bresson, Robert Frank etc..)

Why can't nikon/canon develop take their crop sensor cameras, drop the resolution to ~12mp, and have a camera with great DR and low light performance?
Because consumers are faggots.
>>2842500
Sure thing, faggot.
I'd be happy with even 8mp. If the low light performance and focusing improved by the same multiplier.

This is easily the worst book I've ever read.
Washed up retards like this need to retire
>Doesn't know about diffraction

>Doesn't know the word bokeh
>Falls for honeypot modes like manual instead of aperture/ shutter priority

Manual is the way to go in most cases.
Diffraction only causes problems when you crop waaay in. Seriously, stay away from cropping, fill the frame when you take the shot.
Bokeh is a shitty hip word for out of focus areas.
>>2842030
A common misconception is that M stands for Manual mode. In reality it stands for "i don't understand how the different Meter settings behave" mode.
3 pages in and it's already got more good content than the entirety of "Peterson embarrasses himself in print form"
i was looking for a good camera to start working on some stuff but i dont have much money to spend. i can spend around 300€ and i would like to know if there is any good camera i can get for that price.

Hi guys, I recently found my family's old film camera, a Yashica 108 mp. The shutter release was not working properly so I took it apart and fixed a broken plastic holder.
Now I have a problem, I forgot where the little spring on my finger goes. Can anyone help me?
>>2841895
lurk moar fagget.
>>2841897
I would be really glad if someone could help me
>>2841895
I am pretty sure it goes into the camera.
Why didn't you take photos before you took it apart? Rookie mistake, pal. Your only solution is guessing and trying.
So I've finally managed to shoot enough photos that I feel are worthy enough to sale, and actually had someone ask me for some prints. So can /p/ help with some suggestions? I am mostly considering canvas. I have never done this before.
1. Where do you guys order from?
2. What sizes tend to look/sale the best? How much should these cost to print on average?
3.should I set ppi to larger than 300 and let the printer size down?
4. Whats the best type of canvas for Image quality vs longativity vs cost?
Thanks for the in advance.

Don't print canvas. It looks terrible and retains no sharpness in the image. Print either on paper or metal.
1. I order from bay photo, metal prints with wall mounts
2. It really depends on the customers, and where you're selling. If its a little street fair, cheap prints will sell best. People only spend big money on custom sized prints (in my experience)
3.What? Just send in your images. If they're higher than 300 dpi, thats fine. If they aren't try to figure out a way to make...

Thanks for the advice. As I said, I've never done prints before so I'll take your word for it. Are there different types of metal prints? What should I avoid or try to get?
>>2841693
I always get the metal prints with the "white" background. It basically just looks like it's printed on white paper. There's another option where it looks like it's printed on metal, you can see the metal shining through the colors. Not my style. I'd reccomend getting a few test prints before you go all out. Just get a 4x6 of a standard print on glossy, 4x6 on metal, and if you use bayphoto check out their metallic paper, it looks amazing. It's a glossy white print, but the finish...

Both shit anyway.
Beroflex 28mm f2.8, or japan-made Pentacon.
>>2841398
none of them is good, as both are old pentacon
if you're going to be this finicky, at least get enough money to buy a reknowed good lens before
there's no such thing as good old ussr/gdr obscure lenses, that's a meme: the quality control in general was very poor; so 90% of the time they're shitty lenses (especially after 40 years of use)
Have you ever done it /p/?
How?
Suggestions are welcome!

The sticky is garbage and RPT's are killing the board.
If I want to make big big prints with a digital camera that is not super expensive, am I best off with a used D800?
I've asked this question before and I always get stupid snarky responses of learn 2 shoot (when I was talking about my 24mp cam)
When I mean big prints, I mean prints that are tack sharp when your eye is 2 inches from the paper
I've yet to see a digital print that is blown up to something like a 20x30 that looks nice with a camera in the 20ish megapixel range, you can see the pixels n shit
is there any options for people that...

Get the highest resolution camera you can afford.
Be sure to leave enough money to afford very high quality lenses.
Shoot at your base ISO to minimize noise.
Shoot on a tripod, at your "sweet spot" aperture, with a remote release.
Make sure your shutter speed is enough to freeze any motion in the scene.
Process the image well for fine detail.
Print using a very high quality print service (not a home printer, or your local mom and pop drug store.
Generally, optimal print resolution...

I was thinking on Saul Leiter or Shomei Tomatsu :
