How do I create a "misty" effect on a photo like in that picture?
Is it some kind of filter or what?
Do you have any link to good tutorial?
In photoshop, create new fill layer (gradient), set blending mode to "screen". After that adjust the gradient map to whatever looks good

No. Don't. Never ever do symmetry in nature photos. There is no such thing as symmetry and regularity/periodicity in nature, those are strictly human constructs.

I literally have a day of filming left before I will have finished this project and then all I have is to edit it (as if that's a small task)
Kinda excited cause it's shaping up well but scared as shit in case the transitions look shit or I'm missing something key

1) Stop it
2) Get good
3) Pimp yourself to everyone you meet. Hand out cards, get a great website with an awesome portfolio and reasonable prices. Take out ads in local papers if you want. Go to bridal shows with large prints of your great portfolio, and have a super open friendly non-4chan personality.

Okay, I recently got into photography because I've always loved the look of film photography and one day came across a Pentax K1000 at a thrift shop and decided to give it a shot. I haven't been at it for very long and have only shot one roll of film...I've picked up another camera since then and I just got a bunch of film so I can really try to jump into it.
My problem is...What's holding me back...Is that I get this weird foggy head feeling and my left eye gets blurry no matter how long I use my cameras...Even if it's only for a minute. I've...

That's funny. I got the same thing for a while when I used an old camera I cleaned up. I was a little concerned it might be from mercury or something from the old corroded battery that was left in there but that's pure speculation.
>>2699291
Well, I replaced the batteries with new ones. I've read that some old lenses are radioactive, but I don't think that's what it is.

how do you make it as a photographer?
i know so many people who own three bodies, 8 lenses, some flashes but only make money off taking their friend's graduation or wedding or something at fanime. i cant understand investing in expensive equipment but with little gains?
how can they turn that into a real career?

Last winter me and a couple friends went out int he woods drunk at night, while the snow was about hip-deep. It was a ridiculous but awesome adventure. I took a number of cool photos, and some of the "on the go" shots were just with flash on to capture to moment. I didn't know I took this picture until I reviewed them later. It was a "flash shot" but without the flash on and I found it strikingly spoopy. Idunno. Sorry for the blog post.

I hope you guys can help me. Long story short I was a lazy shut-in and now I started a simple project of mine where every weekend I go somewhere instead of staying home eating and playing vidya.
Now, this "project" involved taking lots of photos to build a book of new places I visited and so on... so I decided to get a new, "real", camera.
I got a Samsung NX3000 and started fooling around.
Guys, I'm no expert, but I feel like my Nexus 5 is a WAY better instrument for the random "tourist". My English is not good so I hope I explained...

Firstly, good on you for at least keeping an open mind about the matter.
When you use the manual setting, you need to know what you're doing. However, when you combine manual (or more likely aperture priority in everyday usage) and RAW files, you give yourself the ability to achieve results tailored to your exact desires - whereas your smartphone makes a whole lot of guesses about what you want. Your Nexus will give you a decent-looking, moderately sharp photo that is probably well-exposed, but its versatility...

>I'd recommend you learn about exactly what 'aperture', 'shutter speed', 'exposure bias' and 'dynamic range' mean and how they interact.
But is it worth it? I just want to take pictures of places I visited not creating "art".
>>2700007
That's the sort of question only you can answer. Good luck!
Hey /p/ I'm interested in hearing your opinions on these three photos.
They're all unedited, I just don't feel like putting in the effort if it's just boring snapshit.
I took a couple of this dude behind his back, but he never raised his head up... I feel like it could be good but his head is too bent over.
Is it just a snapshit seen a million times before?
