Just had a fiddle to see what I could do with this technique - opinions, feedback, have you had any experience with the polygonal concept for editing?

It'd look a lot better if the background was polygonized as well.

what's up /p/, my camera got stolen with about 600 photos of sweden a month ago and now I finally have the money back. I had a simple D3100 with a friend's lens on it, looking for a bigger caliber now though.
I have about 600-1000 bucks to spend on a camera and will have more for a lens in the coming months. I'd like to stay digital if possible because film takes a shitload if time to process in my town compared to the mere minutes I need to export my RAWs.
What would you recommend me for travelling purposes/low light photos? (say parties, hikes, camping,...

Let's talk about the human factor. And no, not knowledge, composition and creativity and so on. I mean the bioligical aspects.
After years I finally found out what the deal is, with those AF-maniacs. For me it's like in the moment I found the M-adjust at my first SLR I (literally) never switched it back, and I really did not get all that "it's hard to manually focus with this lens/dof and blabla"-talk.
Until I got my eyes tested, and I got the highest values possible in all aspects. My eyes are literally perfect. Sharpness, low-light, colour....

When you said "human factor" I thought this was going to be a discussion about how people like your photos more if your models are cute. Instead it's you shitposting about being too dumb to realize when a gay dude is macking on you.
Some people prefer MF, some prefer AF. It's really not that important.
Go look at some award-winning photos from the last decade. Notice how half of them are absolute shit technically? Your eyes mean nothing in this field.
Not to mention you're...

>Not to mention you're on /pee/. It's like you, working at mcdonalds, bragging to all the other mcdonalds employees about how you've memorized the number of tiles in the kitchen. Not only is it irrelevant and unremarkable, but if it somehow magically made you the best employee at that mcdonalds, you still work at mcdonalds.
haha holy shit
How do you get shadows like these in Post-Production?
>>2718268
I love this complete indiscriminate questions. Shadows like this. Yeah, like what? Deep? Soft? Desaturated? Contrast-rich but unclipped?
Specify you moron. And show what niveau you are talking on, so one know how to answer you. E.g.: would you understand if I say "x24y16"? Or do I have to explain you what a luminance curve is?

hey i want to do photo journalism type stuff with b&w film, ie. take photos of an event and be able to have them online that same day/night. can people give me advice on how to streamline the process to make it more efficient?
right now my thinking is that i will mix the chemicals before going out, have a few rolls of maybe 10 frames each, process at home, scan the negs and upload. still need to get a scanner and a darkbag to make loading / unloading the rolls easier.
mostly what i'm looking for is advice on how to mix chemicals in the most efficient...

some sort of film dryer would help MASSIVELY, as i think that, and scanning speed, are gonna be your weakest link
>>2717361
use warmer than suggested chemistry to cut development time, do final rinse in isopropyl alcohol.
get a Kodak/Pakon F135 film scanner, or other scanner designed for lab use. resolution will be low like 4x6 printing low, but a lot faster than other scanners.
don't expect that your negs will be 100% archival, and if your chemistry is too warm you can completely separate the emulsion from the film base.

I'm a working photojournalist. I shoot film as well but not for events. Care to explain why you're bothering to do this?
Just curious because the central commandment of photojournalism is 'get the shot' and you're infinitely less likely to do so with film.

Hi, I'm new to photography and after having had my film developed, I noticed most (80%) didn't turn out so well.
I had gone out at night to take pictures and this is clearly noticeable as there is a lack of contrast in my pics, and not enough light entering. Do I require a flash?
Also, I noticed that the pics are very grainy, is this due to the film (im using kodak gold 200) or could it be the iso that I set to 800? I thought you should set the iso to 800 around night?
I'd really appreciate some feedback so I'm going to upload some pics.
I got these developed at Costco so could this be a factor?

What, specifically, did this guy do to get this look in post?
I'm talking curves, layers, gradient maps? How can I emulate this?
Images like the one on the left are a good example.

The thing is, I want to become a professional photographer.
But I don't like Zoom lenses. Only primes can deliver the results I want.
So instead of using one single camera with zoom lenses to cover from portrait to group photos. I will try to use two DSLR, one with a 50mm 1.4, other with a 24mm 1.8
But to make things faster, I want to be able to shoot from my left hand.
Is it possible?

Dude what
How far have you gone to take a picture? Was it worth it? Was it fun?
I climbed through 20m of forestry and up a hill to get to this section of a railroad. I'm a completely novice photographer and I my camera started losing focus in the low light. It was not really worth it but it was okay.

I then moved onto the railroad bridge. I was spooked when some of the mesh walkway wobbled down under my feet, so I walked on the wooden beams. A bad photo from poor exposure, I will find out how to fix this for my future photographs.

Ive jumped fences, climbed steep embankments, fallen off a sailboat, got attacked by a pelican, got hit by a 300lb black woman, gotten bitched out by a 100lb white woman, kicked out of buildings.
Nothing is too far.
I climbed 600 feet up a radio tower, by myself, at like 3 AM, in the rain, ultimately... Was probably not worth it, but I still had fun. I was up so high that I was above the clouds. It was really sick.

theyre real shitty on purpose. they are literal meme cameras for hipsters (hipster tax included).
get him a small film dslr with a 50mm and a handful of film. same money, but much better buy.

you can buy a fed 4 for the same money. still has the hipster vibe but is actually usable.
