Hello friends, i have a question for those who used this lens, is it worth 364 eurobucks? I'm not afraid to use full manual and to be frank this is going to be my first prime lens i'll buy, or should i get the 50mm 1.4 from cannon?
Also newbie question general i guess.

Just shut the fuck up.

meet me somwhere motherfucker.
>>2736712
I'm sure it will be an okay lens. I've used the 14mm and it was alright, definitely soft in the corners. If you're willing to spend more, go with the sigma 50mm, it's better than the canon 1.4. And I'm not talking about the sigma art series lens, just the regula 50 1.4 that costs around 400 USD
Been searching and can find them anywhere. Can someone help me? Thanks
would also like these presets pls

Do crop lenses give the same field of view to APS-C lenses that say, a full frame lens of the same focal length would provide?
I know a full frame 50mm lens on a crop factor sensor of 1.5 would provide a 75mm equivalent view.
However, would a crop lens of 50mm provide a field of view to a 1.5 crop sensor a 50mm field of view?
Sorry if that doesn't make much sense
>>2738562
A lens's focal length is its focal length.
A smaller sensor with a certain lens will see less than a full frame sensor will.
To get the same field of view that one lens and sensor and lens will give on a full-frame sensor on a crop sensor, you will need a wider lens.
The same principle works in reverse for sensors larger than 35mm full-frame format.
>>2738562
>Do crop lenses give the same field of view to APS-C lenses that say, a full frame lens of the same focal length would provide?
Yes.
>However, would a crop lens of 50mm provide a field of view to a 1.5 crop sensor a 50mm field of view?
No.
The Crop / FF lens distinction ONLY relates to how large of an image circle will project. A Crop and FF lens of 50mm will give the same FoV on any camera, it's just that you'll likely...

If you use a 50mm crop lens on a crop body, it will give you the same field of view as if you used a 50mm full-frame lens on your crop body.
That field of view is equivalent of using a 75mm full-frame lens on a full-frame body.
You're essentially asking if your crop lenses' focal lengths are already corrected for the crop factor. They aren't.

Excellent. Great positioning of the subject, utilizing the entire frame and wasting no space. You were able to have an accurate representation of colors, and a very accurate white balance. I especially like how you can see this is the Atlantis spaceship, it give the entire image historical context and importance, very nice. The compression that you chose is very interesting too, I'm sure it was on purpose. The sky that day, being completely void of clouds, is now made more interesting by a nice rhythmic banding...

Kek thanks I'm sort of a person that doesn't get out much
>shoot film /p/ said, it will be fun /p/ said
Yeah shooting film is indeed fun but maaan, it is no way cheaper than shooting digital.
Someone should sticky this to inform new/p/hags that film is not cheaper than digital
Film camera: $100
lightmeter: $50
Film (say $4 each): $4 x 52 rolls (one roll per week) = $208
Developing: $5 x 52 = $260
Put in CD: $3 x 52 = $156
= $774 for one year
and $1398 for two years (if the film camera and lightmeter is still working)
tl/dr you are a /p/hag if you shoot film
>>2736927
>>>Put in CD
>When poorfags complain about the cost of shooting 135
There are people on this board that have more than that just into their actual film camera and glass, hell there's people here with more than that just on the body.
I've probably got that much into my Nikon F system if not more.
Quit yer bitchin and shoot film.
>>2736952
The point is not that it is expensive, the point is that it is not cheaper than buying a digital camera and shooting that.
It is not a condemnation of film for film's sake, it is a condemnation of shooting film because you can't afford to shoot digital.

I was thinking of doing something similar. Not as structured as this, I simply wanted to have one good photo per week that I was willing to post on my facebook and instagram.
As far as making you "better", I'm sure it will help getting your creative juices going by shooting things in ways you normally don't. But after a while you may feel like it's tedious, and you might lack motivation because some of it won't interest you
>>2736727
>Not as structured as this, I simply wanted to have one good photo per week that I was willing to post on my facebook and instagram.
That's also what I have in mind. But I may end up lacking ideas on what to shoot.

I would love to but I shoot film.
I need to finish the roll first before I develop it so it translates to 52 rolls of film for the entire year. That's a bit costly and may cost $500 for the film and developing for one year.
So guys I have been shooting for a year or so now and I want to improve my gear.
I own a Canon EOS 1100D and a 50mm 1.8 besides the 18-55 home one. But I mostly use the 1.8
I like the objective but Im lacking lighting so Im thinking in investing on a flash. Any suggestions?
I mainly do street photography, portraits and abandoned places.
thank you!

OP, I'm about a year into learning and a flash helped me.
I started with a cheap manual flash and a cheap radio trigger. Then I got a cheap TTL. Getting a TTL off is expensive.
You can still use a TTL flash in manual mode on a cheap radio controller so I'd do that.
Having the flash away from the camera is vital.
/p/ noob here.

I shoot on an A7 and can't decide if I want
Sony Vario-Tessar T* FE 16-35mm f/4 ZA OSS Lens
or
Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM Lens
I have a Metabones smart adapter so the EF mount doesn't bother me, and I'd rather have the f-stop i think. My current widest lens is a 28mm so I'm trying to get something wider and also awesome.
question, comments, go fuck yourself?
All is welcome.
>>2738502
go with the 16-35 canon, if you already have the adapter. Simply for the advantage of the aperture. I'm not sure if you're aware, but in my experience with the metabones 4 adapter, the auto focus is non-existent. As long as that's not an issue, I'd say go with the canon.
Thanks mr Trump!
