Do I lose any quality if I go back into a Psp file that I already edited and saved once to make a second edit and save it twice?
Thanks, I'm new to photoshop and photography.

if you're referring to photoshop, it uses .psd files
there isn't any quality loss when saving as .psd/.psp, as it doesn't perform any lossy compression
Hey /p/ I found this old macro lens in my dads closet, can you guys tell me how much it's worth? All I know about it is the brand is Tamron, and it's a macro lens, 70-210mm, idk what cameras it fits to

Film vs Digital / Video, Archive edition
Lets forget about quality for this thread and focus on archiving.
there is no doubt in my mind that the video out of my a6000 is vastly better than my canon 814 super8, and is a fraction of the cost per minute of footage.
I recently read an article stating that Hollywood is going back to film because it costs less in the long rung, storing film is cheap and the technology to play it back doesn't get obsolete like software. While archiving video requires constant transfer to newer and newer formats, with the possibility of quality loss in each recoding.
Is film worth looking at for the average joe for archiving, are all our digital pictures and HD video just as doomed to time as VHS and Zip-disks?

I thought video formats were pretty stable by now?
For horrible examples of improper archiving you should look at early digital audio formats. Actually, even some later digital audio formats.

what could you possibly expect to come of this
what goes through you people's minds whenever they post insipid "make a le funny me me" requests on a photography board
what do you want, a clown nose added? lactating nipples? meat falling from the ceiling? a lamprey mouth? would it really be all that better than going to some funny image website and looking?

The Photo Revolver is from 1882, printed on 20x20mm dry plates, had no viewfinder, held up to 10 dry plates at a time (earlier versions only held 4), and was exposed by opening the barrel which was a 70mm periscope with f/10 lense inside the barrel.

Where do you share your photos and interact with followers?
I tried Flickr, but I wasn't really feeling it. Should I try Instagram? I feel like Instagram has a much wider audience.
What do you guys use?
>>2735637
Also, is 500px or any of the other Flickr alternatives worth using? Do they have a worthwhile userbase?
Yeah, 500px has a dedicated community
>>2735637
I use Flickr and Instagram. I find it's easier to get followers on Flickr but more people use Instagram. I think it depends on your kind of photography. Flickr users tend to go for more generic beautiful photos where Instagram loves fashion and more unorthodox photos with filters (raised and crushed blacks in your tone curve for 20% more likes!). 500px tends to be where the best stuff that everyone will like goes.

Why does all my JPG's look so disgusting? Everything I export that contains lots of oranges and other warm colors turn out cold and green. Orange becomes yellow and yellow becomes green, and then I have to edit the JPG's using Windows 10's editing system so that they don't look god-awful.
That is a color profiling problem. sRGB, which is usually the color profile jpegs are exported with, way narrower than adobeRGB, so a lot of compression is going on. On pro editing tools, such as Photoshop, you can "track" the compression to a point there's generally no visual distinction between the before and after (use the save for web... command). On the other hand, more casual programs such Paint or (sometimes) Lightroom won't do the proper tracking of the color when converting from working color space to sRGB, but rather just apply the sRGB profile...

>>2740471
I use Lightroom 5.4, so how do I fix the problem?
>>2740485
I do not use LR, so I can't say. Make sure you exporting the sRGB, not saving it as adobeRGB jpegs. Also, google
eh /p/ this is my first time on this page,I wanna start getting into photography. I want to get a budget dslr to take landscape pics with and maybe some night sky pictures aswell. Ive been looking at the nikon d3000 or the rebel t3, any suggestions? and ik i wont get great quality star shots with these cameras but would i get a decent pic if I set a high ISO, an aperture of f3.5 and a 20 sec exposure time?
buy a cheap aps-c body and a samyang/rokinon 12mm f2.0
>>2740324

A Canon DSLR updates dead pixel removal data every time manual sensor cleaning is activated. Warm sensor shows more almost dead pixels.
1. Leave camera to shoot video for few minutes to heat up the sensor.
2. Activate sensor cleaning / manual cleaning from menu. (Mirror goes up.)
3. Wait half a minute and turn the power off.
You should see less dead pixels. If that does not help, delete System32.
