Will Nikon ever release something to compete with the Cinema EOS system?
No? Nikon is far smaller than Canon, and not in the video business. Canon have always made video gear.
can't see it ever happening for the same reasons >>2747491 said, unless Nikon acquired a smaller video company.
I am surprised Blackmagic is still independent and hasn't been absorbed by Panasonic or Sony, it would be nice if someone like Nikon could get them.

on what basis
How do they make this effect /p/? VSCO filters?
I really want to make these effects and is this film?
I've been looking at tutorials and I can't replicate this look.

Most likely a combination of images together
So got to choose between the ae1 program or an A1 canon within 30 bucks of each other. Looked into it and no one seems to fucking know, im getting into photography and was leaning towards the AE1 because it seems like it requires more interaction and technical practice.

it literally doesn't fucking matter
film SLR bodies are extremely similar. They're pretty much a box to hold the film with a shutter in it. Just pick one and start taking photos like yesterday

Thanks, thats what everyone seems to be saying. Ill jump on the cheaper one then. I wasnt sure if the A1 was worlds above the program.

Recently bought an ae-1 from goodwill for 10 bucks
I'd say go for it. It functions incredibly well and really the only thing that's a pain is adjusting the iso but it's still easy. Also FD lenses are amazing, I've got that canon 50 1.8 but I think I might pick up one of the 24mm canon lenses if I can find one cheap
Hey friends, I'm going to buy a D7100.
I already have the following Nikon lenses: 50mm 1.8 and 55-200mm 3.5-5.6.
My question is should I buy a D7100 with the 18-105mm lens or a D7100 with a 18-55mm and 35mm 1.8g
I ask this because I think that, perhaps, with a 18-105 I would stop using my 55-200mm. If I buy a 18-55mm I would still have use for the 55-200mm.
But I think that, since I already own a 50mm 1.8, the 35mm 1.8 on a DX body wouldn't be of any use.
I know that this is a weird question and in the end it all boils up to my own...

A D7100, a great camera is a bit too much for a beginner but if you have the money, go for it. I would use the money to buy better lenses though. A good kit lens is the 24-85mm f3.5-4.5 yeah its full frame but so what? Also invest in good prime lenses or a wide zoom like a Tokina 11-16 f2.8
>>2746929
thanks for the tips. Problem is that right now I have to decide between a
D7100 with a 18-105
or
D7100 with a 18-55 + 35mm 1.8g
lol coudnt just stay in the thread for questions
How can I become a better photographer if I'm a shut-in loser who only goes out when absolutely needed?
>>2744371
don't do that.
>>2744371
If you want to take more interesting photos, become a more interesting person. Stop saying no, and start saying yes. Stop seeking out negativity and excuses, and start looking for reasons to be happy, and supportive.
Look for the bio of Pierre Verger and you'll learn that it is possible. Of course, you'll have to stop being a shut in loser at some point, tho.
I wanted to share a few photos I took with my phone. Come show me yours, anon.

Creepshot camera.
Realistically,
What Photography and Videography businesses can make money?
And I do not mean >hurrdurr high end fashion photographers make heapz
I mean more specifically, realistic businesses the average photographer or videographer could start and actually make a great living with?
For example, the most obvious choice
>Weddings
An industry that does not decline even during a recession, is always in demand and as long as you arent a complete moron, can network and make a basic website you could enter...

>I mean more specifically, realistic businesses the average photographer or videographer could start and actually make a great living with?
It's possible, yes, but you won't like it much. it's a grind, of making the customer happy. And the customer doesn't know anything about art, and doesn't care much for your creativity. You'll be shooting weddings, and events, and newborns, and senior portraits.
>>2746027
School photographers and stock photographers have always been profitable. Sure, you can operate your iPhone well enough to take a photo, but can you corral 2000 kids and photograph them all in less than a day?

Pick one.
I've been wanting to get into photography for awhile, and I've come down to a nice point and shoot camera, is it as good as the reviews or should i start off with another?

How to street photography /p/?
I will be shooting tomorrow but I fear that I will get confronted. I'm amazed at how photogs are able to shoot at these close up range. They say that in order to get good street photos, you need to be close enough. Pic related is kind of hard to do especially with kids.
I will be using my film camera but it doesn't have a working meter. I think my phone will suffice. I prefer colored film as well but should I be using B&W film?
tl/dr how to shoot street /p/?

use a wide angle lens, stop down considerably, shoot at hyperfocal, viewfinder basically just to compose quickly
~5000 stranges over a few years, only 1 confrontation
most people don't give a shit, some will give you dirty looks, and others will seem flattered by the attention

Okay, can somebody explain to me how you shoot at night in raw format? I don't get it. What do I do with exposure/shutter speed/aperture/iso?
