Ok, so a model agency in my city just e-mailed and asked me if i want to make ”test shoots” for them.
That the agency both have new models that need to build their portfolios and models already working that sometimes want to improve their portfolio.
They are asking me what I would like to be paid by the model if I’d do test shoots of them.
The photographers usually charge between 85-160 EUR inc makeup and styling (4-5 photos and they pay on the spot directly to me)
They end by saying that they already think i shoot awesome both men and women…
What should I do?? I was thinking it would be interesting to say ”charge me nothing.. but give me a great stylist and lets work magic..” or is that stupid? what would u do? i feel it would be a great experience of course but a bit afraid i cant deliver top-images.. i've never worked like this before.. if anyone has - please give me advice!! thank you

ok i might have exaggerated a bit but you know what i mean..
Consider "collaborating" with them for 2 or 3 shots by simply giving them your time, make it clear that after a few test runs you can pick a direction for future business
So I'm headed to Syd/Ade in a couple of days. I need a little help with a thing or two.
1. Cheap camera stores on the way from (or in either of the cities) Sydney to Adelaide.
I'll probably buy an extra lens. Rather do it in Aus than where I live (NZ), because we're a fucking costly country and I can claim GST in Aus. I will also be crossing Blue Mountains, just in case any camera/electronic stores around.
2. Any tips on shooting at Blue Mountains?
I have a 40mm on digital and 50 on film, both 35mm. Maybe a 24/28 if I buy another.
On the side note, anyone gonna be on the cruise from Sydney to Auckland, P&O Cruise?

Hey guys, I do not know where to ask this, so I figured I would ask you guys first.
My parent's 25th anniversary is coming up, and I would like to fix some of their wedding pictures.
Long story short, they hired a friend to do it, and the pictures all came out looking like it was put through a cheap phone filter. I am told it is better to have a picture of the picture rather than a scan of the picture. Is this true?
I have photoshop, but I am very new at this. I have googled, but I can't seem to find a page with this type of photo error... mostly photos with color already in them and have a light spot.
Attached is a photo. Could someone help me or point me to the right direction?
Thanks guys.

Ask one of your parents if they have the negatives that the photos were made from. Prints tend to degrade over time, but negatives last quite a while. If they do have the negatives take them to a photo restoration store (knowing which ones you want restored).
If they don't have the negatives, scan the image in your scanner at the absolute highest DPI (should be like 4800dpi for consumer grade scanners) and save it as a TIFF file. When I do this type of work I, I almost always use a scanner. Taking a photo...

aww omg a kiss x4 in the wild
how adorable
use a very long lens. 200mm worked well for me. even if your aperture is f/6.3 you may still get a very good result. think about how large format gets it's thin depth of field at even f/8.
take a lot of pictures, more than you think you need around the edges to avoid cropping in, in post

What program do you use for stitching OP? How many photos did you use?
I want to try this very soon. IMO using this technique effectively makes medium and large format obsolete

Hey /p/
Looking to enter the field of skate photography.
I've been shooting with SLRs and rangefinders for about 6 years without really taking much interest in digital cameras. It's finally time to look into it I think. Just wondering what you guys though would be the most appropriate DSLR body for shooting skateboarding/sports/action photography.

Bump. Fellow skateboarder here, I'm also interested on this.
a friend of mine does this. D3, 50mm, fish, and some zoom lens. Also you need know how to use flash and synchronize them properly. He claims hss flash is necessary.
Most skatephotos look the same to me.
Definitely put in some downhill skating shots as well. Go to tournaments and competitions if you can. And don't be afraid to bring in a bit of snow in those shots.
Hi, I'm currently using a Nikon camera.

There are three setting here which have their own options:

-Single Point
-Dynamic Area
-3D Tracking

>I think I understand release but I don't understand the difference between the first two options.
One is continuous, the other is a single shot. Meaning that if you press the shutter and keep it pressed in continuous you will get tons of pictures, in single frame you will get only one.
>>2723069
>-Single Point
Only uses the selected AF point.
>-Dynamic Area
Initially uses the selected AF point.
But when the subject moves it uses the AF point still on the subject, as long as it's in the selected area.
This is good for things like birds or sports, where it's hard to keep the AF point on the subject all of the time.

Hi, thanks a lot this helped but when I'm using the camera, I can chose both focus mode and af area mode.
So let's say I'm shooting a bird, I know now to use dynamic area but in the focus mode option, what would I use? Continuous servo?
