>that Canon guy that has more lenses than photos
Halp... I've only been into photography in the past 3 years but have spent nearly $20,000 in a range of bodies, lenses and accessories but I barely take any photos.
I have been working a lot more (full time) so that's why I've been able to afford the gear but that means I don't have much time to go out on expeditions to shoot.
How do you guys handle life-work-photogging balance? I work 35 hours a week and I don't know how to do this...

What's so funny?
This is one of those occasions where shooting film would've actually been cheaper.

As a newbie and someone interested in the X series, would I run into anything that really pissed me off about the X100?
Where would you recommend starting on the X100, X100s, X100t continuum?
I'm trying to decide, what to get as a birthday present, so /p/, would you please help me?
I'm mostly interested in landscapes and a little bit about street photography. I also have to shoot portraits and events sometimes but I don't like those that much.
I have:
D7100 + grip
18-70, 12-24 and 35 DX Nikkors
Polarizer for the standard zoom
Three gradual NDs
Remote for the camera
A decent Manfrotto tripod
Tamrac Evolution 8
What is missing?
>>2755938
The X100t is the most advanced and refined, so without any constraints or knowledge about you whatsoever, the X100t.
Hey, I'd like to see some people's aircraft photos! Can be of helicopters or airplanes, I don't really care.
(Beware, some images may not load smoothly on some devices. High resolution photos that are converted to JPEG still retain some detail...)

Hey gang!
I've been taking heaps of photos in an attempt to learn the art of street photography. These are the best shots I've taken this month and I would really appreciate some feedback (especially some constructive criticism)
Thanks for taking the time to look at my shots :)

Is Fuji just being a cash cow? Their x-series of cameras have been selling well why they do this on their film?

>why they do this on their film?
As less and less people buy it, but the price of producing it stays the same, prices have to go up to keep the production afloat. It doesn't make sense to take their digital money and drop it into their film, when that money would be better spent on R&D to continue to improve and try to take more of the market share.

Running out of Pentacks pics aye boss?
Hokay: in need of a new compact body. Not overly familiar with them, so after some recs.
- I shoot live music in the local scene, so am often facing extremely poorly lit stages. A good night is gonna be a couple of red stage lights. A bad night is gonna be those new bright blue LEDs.
- I shoot with a d800 and change lenses based on venue/needs.
- The d800 is heavy and too much bullshit to deal with when I just wanna go snap some bands and am not working professionally.
- I want a new camera to shoot live music/events with that is easier to carry. Had some sweet payouts, so gonna spend about $1,500 or so. Can go higher.
- Looking for something compact and pocketable. Either a jacket pocket, or at least something to sling around that's not a DSLR. Bridge/hybrids/ILCs not really preferred.
- Wide-ass aperture and super good ISO at low light is a must. Fast shutter speed would also be good, as would a fast focus on low light.
- Less needed, but probably nice: a decent zoom without going past f/2.8. Cold or hot shoe with external mic would be cool. Decent movie specs would be nice. All these I can let go if I can't get them with the other things above.
Pic related: one of my many options I'm considering.

"16MP is absolutely enough and everything beyond that is useless and stupid" - fujifags
>inb4 "the difference between 16 and 24MP is NEGLIGIBLE, anyways"
get zozzl'd
There is obviously never anything wrong with resolution increase so long as it's engineered to the other properties aren't being compromised.
It's just bullshit whining.
>>2744877
The difference between my two K5's (16MPix) and my K3 (24MPix) is negligible in practical use.
To begin with I though it would be noticeable, but it really isn't.
By comparison my Q7 (12MPix) is a noticeably smaller image. A difference that really is noticeable. That said the Q7's sensor isn't as good, and the only time I notice the diff between 16 and 24 is when doing serious crops .. like smaller than 50% of the original image...so rarely.
But I imagine if I was going for an end product that was even remotely large, like A4+ prints or something, then it would be more of a gripe.

you got a monitor that is capable of showing these at 100% without having to zoom in?
do you print at sizes at which a resolution of more than 16mp is necessary?
both answered with no? - you're a pixelpeeper more interested in gear than in taking photos.

processing it is easy, but for printing you either need a good scanner+printer or you have to set up a darkroom.
The same as everybody does I guess? Black and white isn't exactly rocket science. You can literally soak it in piss and it will turn into pictures.

Is the FM3A worth the money?
Hey /p/,
New here. Been using my father's FM2 since I am 10 years old, never had to get it fixed, light seals are fucked but somehow there is no light leakage, and it always gets great shots. Hell, even the shutterblades are a little bend. It is sturdy as hell and for me the definite camera. I am thinking about getting a FM3A though. Mainly because of AE mode, I guess it will make shooting a lot easier, quicker.
Also, I am going to Hong Kong in three weeks, after that I will be in Shenzhen, Beijing, Shanghai...any tips on where to buy, feel free to educate me (I lived in Beijing and so far haven't found a decent place to buy photogear, but maybe you know more)...
Thanks

>1/250 sync speed
OH BOY.
Film SLR's are kind of similar. At the end of the day it's down to ergonomics, metering (if you use it), flash sync speed and focusing screen or viewfinders.
Unless the FM3a offers something you absolutely NEED, then it's not worth it.
