Hey /p/.
My gran was cleaning out her attic, found this old Polaroid camera and gave it to me.
I'm desperate to try it out, but I didn't realise how expensive the film is, so I have a few questions.
Is there any way to check the camera still actually works before I put film in it? She thinks the camera has been up there for about 30 years. I know these things are built to last but that's still a long time and it was hardly the best conditions up there.
Are there any cheaper alternatives for film? I've Googled and had a look on Amazon...

It will work, It is powered from the film pack which holds power for the film delivery and the flash. Trust me unless it has been underwater it will work. The Impossible project does Polaroid film.
Alternatively
You could just use a 5 megapixel cheap digital, crop it into a square with a double border on the bottom edge, print it out on an old HP Deskjet using non branded ink cqrtridges, and on ordinary photocopy paper scan the print and turn it into a jpeg then have it printed at Asda/Boots as a square glossy...

Nothing will work on it without a film pack in it as the batteries are in the film pack. Yes you are a hipster. If u want instant camera then look at what fuji instaxes do. Polaroid is just a brand name now used by various manufacturers to sell tvs and cameras generic shit.
Someone give me an oxygen mask, I can't hold the hype

A ziploc bag will keep your lens dry without massively bloating its size.
Been at it for a little while, trying to get real about this shit. Help me out with some feedback /p/?

I really dig this image, I love how she's just a groovy dark shape with a face emerging. This is how "crushing tha blacks" should be utilized.
>>2756861
Mainly for this image, but slightly for the first too: give more headroom to your model.
Her face is really dark and these light conditions don't work well with her face.
I like the pose and the idea that her belly is visible, but due to composition / lighting or her lack of muscle...

Just sent at Amazon my brand new Canon EOS 70D for back e front focus issues, basically not a single photo was focused (even close ups with the 18-135mm)...so disappointed because it's a good camera.
Since now I'm scared to get another defective 70D, what camera do you suggest me?
- 1200€ max included decent kit zoom lens
- Similar Dual pixel AF for videos (I have to use the camera for quality videos but the main use for the camera is still/animals/landscape photography)
I don't know what else to say...I'm so frustrated right now, just looking at my shots with my old Nikon D70...way better focused.
>pic related: a delightful example of the issue: AF point was on the writings

Looks like you just used a shit lens. Looks pretty close to in focus. Did you try any non-terrible lenses on it?
>>2761504
Both samples look in-focus.... did you adjust the diopter? Do you use eyeglasses when shooting?
You did use AF though...
Based on the images, it seems fine, and nitpicky. If you used multiple AF points, of course it's gonna pick one you don't want sometimes, especially an object with multiple different surfaces.
If you use only thhe centre AF point, it will only focus on things directly in the centre, not the side points.

Nah, I can't even afford that shit. But they did say it will have higher DR, and there's no proof of that. I'm hoping they get their shit together with DR when the 80D/6D2 come out

They said the C300 Mark II had like 15 stops of DR.. It had like 11 or 12 or something, way less than 15 and they have said the same thing about the 1D X Mark II too. kek.
Hey, /p/
looking for photo organizer software that lets me quickly go through large collections and tag photos in different categories, then move/export them to folders based on the tags I have set.
By quickly I mean it should render images fast enough and support keyboard shortcuts. Oh, and it needs to run on linux. And, preferably, be free.
>>2759864

You should probably have started with that bit. Try F-Spot.
