My is this guy everywhere is he really that good?
>>2753991
watch his daily vlogs. im presuming you've seen the snowboarding video. yes hes the best in my opinion
>>2753991
I fucking hate vloggers, I find all of them annoying as fuck. But his are actually interesting, and entertaining. most his fan base are a bunch of faggot dick riders tho. Regardless he's a good example that you don't need gear to make great videos, a lot of his commercial and viral videos were shot on point and shoots
>>2753996
i really don't like vloggers either, but i've been following his channel for almost 4 years now and i can't stop watching his vlogs daily.
Hi /p/, what do you think of my photo? Also general advice/criticism thread.

And why the fuck do you think one image deserves its own thread? Post in the recent photo thread.

It's a picture of a flower. A nice picture of a flower, but still, it's a flower

Resize your long edge.
Not enough DOF, too much is OOF. Also, the foreground being blurred out makes me uncomfortable, especially since it seems almost accidental.
I see nothing interesting here other than a flower with a bokeh bkg taken in regular light? Correct me if I am wrong.
If you want to do still life of such a banal subject then you have to make it interesting. This attached image by Edward Weston for instance should give you some inspiration.
No body wants to see shitty boring photos of flowers, these literally grow in gardens everywhere. What makes Weston's image of this vegetable so compelling? Look at the interplay of tones, the accentuating of curves, and the idiosyncratic nature of this vegetable. It's imperfections give it character and interest. Please think about these things before snapping a photo lest you become a fauxtog.

I know these close ups of this bougainvillea aren't the best, but can /p/ give me some constructive criticism.

you should resize your shit as per the rules.
also it would add some interest if there were insects or something crawling on the plants

But that was in imgur. Or are you talking about the Picture I posted here?
Ok /P
I'm very new too all of this, so don't shoot me
I bought my very first camera today , and this is the result
I'm pretty happy with this picture , but i cant seem to put more detail in the statue ...
how do i do that ?
Camera: NIKON D3300
Aperture: f/4.8
ISO: 2200
Exposure: 1/60
Focal Length: 38/1
>>2767264
Better lighting
Lower ISO (High ISO removes detail)
Sharper aperture (for f2.8 lenses, f8 tends to be the sharpest aperture)
Faster shutter speed - the faster the shutter speed the less your hand shake affects the image.
To get the most out of this image you'd probably want to use a tripod, or increase the intensity of the lighting.

Is this shot with the kit lense?
You might want to try some off camera fill flash.
>>2767283
any reason you linked to a cosplay site?
does this work with a nikon D3300
any other controller you recommend for it ?
NIKON ML-L3

just get the ebay ones for a few bucks
>>2767861
Amazon Basics also makes one that's $9 and is probably less hassle than ebay.
>>2767861
thanks man , you just saved me 17 euro .
So, how do you carry your camera? Around your neck in front of you or slung over your shoulder on your side/back?

in my hand

i wrap my domke gripper around my wrist
hi i'm looking to sell my film camera stuff and get a DSLR. this is what i have, with rough estimates of what i hope to get selling on ebay.
nikon f4s $200
50mm af-d f1.4 $200
28mm f3.5 $50
pentax k1000 $50
50mm f/2.0 $35
Tamron SP 35-80mm f/2.8-3.8 $50
i also have an epson v600 scanner that i can probably get $300 for, at least, that i won't need anymore.
i never use the pentax; what i actually want to replace is the f4.
i'm prepared to spend maybe $200 of my own money. what do you think i should get? my 50mm is a pretty dope lens; maybe i should just get a nikon DSLR that it's compatible with.

Fucking etc
So... Do you think photography is the primary income of any of these photographers?? Fucking everyone has their own subscription service these days..
For example Joey L, does he fucking live off like 5 high income jobs a year? Or is he shooting family portraits inbetween the bigger jobs?
I know Peter Hurley seems to be pretty open about shooting standard portraits (including family and children portraits) inbetween actors and shit.

Wait, what? Highly successful photographers are making smart business moves and capitalizing on their successes? You don't say...
Have a look at Zack Arias: http://beam.zackarias.com/#!/about
>Multiple business units within photography: Music, editorial, corporate, and commercial.
>Also does presentations and workshops
There's no reason to think he has a side job busting tables at a restaurant or something.
how do I get started from ground zero in modelling?
I'm a male and I don't make the height for runway modelling but I'd love to do catalogue or promotional material work for example
idk. you should probably hit the gym and get shredded first
Did Canon just fix their horrible sensor noise/banding issue?

Pretty much. I'll be pissed if the 5DmkVI still has the issue. I'd have jumped ship to Nikon by now except for the fact that their 135 f2 is shit compared to Canon's.

It'd be awesome if there were an entire board devoted to such on an image board like this, don't you think?
