Why would I do that? Optical slaves are amateur hour and pocket wizards are an additional cost, I would rather invest the money into the new flash that can be triggered without a pocket wizard.

i'm not so keen with the worse head being blurry but it's still a great picture, love the circular blur on the background
It actually is pretty damn rad.
The photo seems to be from '96, by the way, so it would have for sure been shot on film, and it looks like pretty slow film judging my the sharpness and lack of grain. I'd say the out of focus head was probably unavoidable, as the photog would have needed a pretty big aperture to make up for the slow film.
I wonder if this was shot on MF of some sort, the bokeh looks very 645-ish.

More likely to have been shot on LF. 4x5 or 8x10. That's probably also why it seems to be so sharp and grain free. The larger the format, the less noticeable grain becomes.

I posted this in a gear thread but got no replies.
I "upgraded" from a X100 to a X100T and was pretty disappointed with the blacks "clipping". I noticed that it loses a lot of detail in the dark parts of the photograph.
Why would this happen? Is that the dynamic range?

Well your shot is under exposed, which is probably part of it. Are you shooting raw?
Here's one from the X100. It's a much darker shot and has less clipping!
I read somewhere that the X100 has a Bayer sensor and not the X-trans. WIll this affect the DR?

I personally love my a6000 and is light years ahead of any other camera I've ever had. High burst rate, 24mp, great raw files, beautiful video, there isn't anything wrong with it for me. A camera is just a tool, in the end the gear doesn't fucking matter it's how you make the image, not the sensor.

I got a 2.8D for cheap and it is very nice, I've used a Yashica before and the Rollei has a noticeably higher build quality and I find it more fun. As far as image quality goes the Planar/Xenotar are the best wide open but once you stop the lens down it's just as good as the Yashica/Minolta TLRs.

Other than "a little bit of video" what do you shoot? There are only a couple of fields that would actually benefit from the strengths of the S, and many that will struggle with the drawbacks, and if you're not in one of the "strengths" categories, you're going to be wasting your money and annoying yourself.
