Thoughts on Maxpedition's new line? I've been impressed with all their other gear (own 3 different packs) How about these for quality bug out bags that don't make you standout like a sore thumb? Especially in an urban environment.

Sure, it's smaller, but 3V gear has a sling bag thay is sure as hell cheaper than maxpedition.
If i could afford maxpedition I would buy maxpedition, though.

I have a pack with that exact sling design from them. It's a neat little thing, but if you put any kind of weight into it, it starts to grate on your shoulder a bit. The ability to unclip a single buckle and swing it across yours chest to be accessible is nice, though. I mostly use it as my motorcycle pack- keeping tools, spare spark plugs, water, snacks, stuff like that in it.
Can someone tell me why you would choose a single sling over two? I don't really understand.

you can swing it around to your front for ease of access, if you have a weak or hurt shoulder, if you're constantly taking the pack off it makes it easier with less things to fumble with
the drawbacks are that if it doesn't come with a hip belt or is poorly designed, it will cause stress to the load bearing shoulder.
