Sleeping pads are so based in hammocks. Mummy designs work significantly better than rectangle but I've been amazed at how many people were surprised that someone would use a sleeping pad in a hammock.
I wanted to pick up an under quilt and top quilt to use with my 0 degree bag and sleeping pad and do some winter camping in sub zero temps this winter but I didn't make it happen. Next year when the ice caves are open in Superior at the Apostle Islands, there will be nothing holding me back.

I have the snugpak underblanket and top quilt but I haven't had the chance to use them yet. How do you like them? How cold have you camped with them?
here's my sleeping rig. i got two fitted tarps, depending on the weather i use them in different combinations.
hot - no tarp
breezy - tarp on bottom
light rain or chance thereof - tarp on top
heavy rain or rain/wind - tarp on top and bottom
it's lovely being cocooned in there when it's freezing out but i prefer to leave the top tarp off so i can look up at the stars :3

what's a wm hammock?

Ok, I'm honestly not trolling here, just someone who's never used a hammock when /out.
Is it really ok to sleep in? I feel like it would be okay for a night or two, but the idea of having my back bent like that all night would make it pretty stiff after a while.

My guess is Wal Mart

I use an Eno double nest. Its big enough for me to lay diagonally. Do this and you are almost flat.
