Warning: You will get junk mail from Marlboro if you do this. I think it's worth it though, because a few times a year they have freebie giveaways, and it's always some outdoorsy shit. It's also not available in MI, MA or VA.

You can get the lighter in one day with these exact steps.

1. Make an account on Marlboro.com

2. Once you've made an account, DON'T click on "Click To Enter" online.

3. Download the MHQ app. You have to download the app directly from their website, i don't think tobacco apps are allowed in the play store.

4. Now login with the app and "Click To Enter" through the app (+1000 credits)

5. Enter these two promo codes: (+1000 credits each)

>ONEOFAKIND

>AUTHENTIC

6. Sign up for email and text alerts (+1000 credits)

You should have 4000 credits (the Zippo is 3850 credits). If you make the mistake of clicking the "Click To Enter" button on the website, you'll miss the extra 500 credits you get from entering from the app. I didn't wanna sign up for the text alerts, so it took me 2 days to get the Zippo.

I'm gonna be able to grab the Red Rock Lensatic Compass or Victorinox Camper Knife, but it's too late to get any big prizes. It's fine though, because now that i know they do this multiple times a year, I'm definitely getting some nice camping gear in a few months.

I should also mention that you can track your package with FedEx, so you know it's not some scam.
>>
Is this US only, or do they do this in the UK as well?
>>
>>690895

I think it's US only, sorry.
>>
Normal zippos are shit when the wind is blowing tho....
>>
>>690883
In Texas you can buy Zippos for $12 at a grocery store.

Why bother with this? Is it somehow special?

Dammit guys... This is why we can't have nice things. Look what you faggots did.
>>
I did this years ago. Some smoking hot chick came up to me and some friends at a bar, gave us all zippo lighters for filling out a Marlboro form. Sometimes they send you junk mail, sometimes I would just get random packages in the mail. Got a nice wall mount bottle opener, a hat, couple other things.
>>
I have been doing this and today had enough to order the Mule Mugs.
I should receive them in 3-6 weeks.
In my opinion, they were the best thing I could get.
I already have a good backpack, tent, and sleeping bag, so those didn't interest me, although the lantern is pretty cool. Maybe I will see if I can save enough for one of those as well.
I already have a few Zippos, so I don't really want another.
>>
>>690883
How do you get points past these first few?
>>
>>690985
you log on every day and hit the enter button. you get credit of 500 points a day.

there are promo codes as well.

google Marlboro promo codes and enter them.

the promo codes are good for 1000 each
>>
if nothing else, at least we can save enough to get the steaks.

a free steak dinner for you and a few friends is a pretty good deal.
>>
>>690906
damn
>>
>>690883

As cool as they are and I love mine, Zippos are outdated trash.

Bics are objectively better in almost all ways save for charm and aesthetics.
>>
>>691066
What about usage in windy environments
>>
>>691066
yeah, I don't use mine at all

I use a bic from a gas station counter

>>691070
Zippos don't really light any better in the wind than a bic, but they do stay lit better
>>
Any other ways to get more points?

There are only 5 promo codes:
ONEOFAKIND (works on day 1)
AUTHENTIC (works on day 1)
ORIGINAL (works once you've entered for 7 days in a row)
REALDEAL (works for some, didn't work for me)
CRAFTED (works for some, didn't work for me)

I think you might have to receive other promotional junk mail with those codes on them to be able to use the last 2. I hope they fix this promotional code system during the next contest, i wanna score some nice gear.
>>
>Sweepstakes begins on or about 3:00 AM ET on 1/11/16 and ends at 11:59 PM ET on 3/20/16.

So there are exactly 30 days left, which means a total of 15,000 credits.

I already have 5,650 after getting the Zippo, and the Mule Mugs are 14,400, so I'll have exactly 6250 left over. Enough for the Kelty Cache Box.

Too bad it's small.

So I get 500 points every day if I click this, and can do so until 3/20?
>>
I downloaded the app but there isn't anything about this contest on it. Its just showing two things, weekly coupons and some eagle eye game.
>>
>>691220
I was hoping to get the kelty bag, but no way I'll ever have enough before they're all gone. I need a new day pack.

Yes, but the nicer prizes like the Mule Mugs will probably go fast once the people who were saving up for the cameras realize those are probably going to be taken by the people who can get the last 2 promo codes to work for them.

Just grab something while you still can. I'm not sure how many Zippos are left because i already claimed one. 9 days ago it was at 70,000/100,000.

Red Rock Lensatic Compass 21,467/25,000 available

Victorinox Camper Knife 2,881/5,000 available

Mule Mugs 3,529/6,000 available

Kelty Tuck EX Sleeping Bag 773/1,000 available

Garmin Virb X Camera 250/250 available

Nikon COOLPIX Digital Camera 50/50 available

Old Town NEXT Canoe 10/10 available

>>690979
The Lantern is sold out, but it looked like cheap plastic anyway. People are also saying that the tent is too small and the fishing pole sucks. I like these contests, but they sometimes have too many crap items.
>>
>>691228

Scroll down and you'll see the "Made In Marlboro Country - Tap To Get Started" thing. The contest isn't available in MI, MA or VA. Maybe that's why?

At least you have an account now. Select the e-mail alerts so you know when the next contest is gonna start. You should also browse /r/freebies, sometimes companies give away knife samples and other camping gear.
>>
>>690988
This seems too easy.
>>
>>691247

Easy to get a $40 prize, not easy to get a $500+ prize.
>>
>>691237
I see now that the lantern is sold out. So is the steak gift set. darn.

I will probably just save enough for a zippo then.
>>
>>691267

The steak gift set was apparently worth $114, the expensive stuff goes fastest.
>>
>>691247
Now, imagine if you wrote a script to click that link daily...
>>
>>691070

They dont really light up with wind and when they do they turn off fast.

The flame is way stronger though, and it seems hotter and bigger.

I get the marketing in days of old would be true, because other methods of lighting fire would even be less wind resistant.
>>
>>691237
Actually I have that same fishing pole. I'm not a pro angler, just a random shmuck that likes to fish, and it's perfectly acceptable.

And if you're getting it for free, even better.
>>
>not available in MI
Fuck you too Marlboro. Bics are better anyway.
>>
bump, don't forget to enter today
>>
>>691237

Red Rock Lensatic Compass 20,705/25,000 available

Victorinox Camper Knife 2,198/5,000 available

Mule Mugs 2,620/6,000 available

Kelty Tuck EX Sleeping Bag 15/1,000 available

Glad i got that Zippo, everything else is going fast.
>>
know a few people who are doing it, one who actually smokes malboro and has been doing it since the beginning, or close to it , within a few days of getting the kelty ruckus for me since theres nothing theyre interested in , told another buddy to do it and while hes only at 4k points it will be enough for him to get some little stuff fingers crossed we end up with enough for the pack
>>
>>692350
Are you, in fact, a shill? I mean, even if you are, you're letting people (although, not me, because I live in Michigan) get free stuff, so I don't really mind. It would be nice to know, though.
>>
>>692371
looks like may not get backpack still need 3 dys to get all the points unless theres any other way of earning it
>>
>>692511

No, I'm just trying to get free stuff myself. But it seems everything good will be sold out before this contest is even over next month..
>>
>>690883
Thanks for the heads up OP. Definitely going to do this. I'm all about taking advantage of things like this. If anyone runs across new codes or any way to get points, post them here so we can get those uber cool gifts!!! Take it easy all.
